I didn?t pay until the work was completed which was April 8, 2014. I paid $1,277.19 cash and the balance was $0. I had to call them several times after they initially put the blinds up. Just before Christmas, I called because some of the blinds drag to the floor and when you pull the cord they don?t close well. The serviceman came out and he wasn?t down the street before one of the slats fell out. I called immediately and they said they would have to call us back. After another week, I called and they said they were just so busy and couldn?t make it out because of the busy holiday. I called last week and they were still busy. Friday she told me to call me on Tuesday. The blinds are really an issue because the front of my house is all glass, so I called Monday they ignored my call. I left a message today asking if they were screening my calls and ignoring me. They immediately answered the phone and said they have a multi-million dollar job and they can?t pull anyone off the job to get to me. They already have my money and they need to come take care of me. I asked if they were going to extend my warranty and the receptionist said she had to go talk to somebody about that. I started to mention that they promised to take care of me after Christmas and she hung up on me. I don?t think I?m being unreasonable. I just want them to come fix my blinds while they are still under warranty. My time is valuable, too. If they can?t honor the contract, then I want my money back.
She tells me that my warranty was up the last day of February, which is when we drew up the contract. I want to know why she would make me write $100 check, that she will not get. (Brenda)

They were puntual, very professional and were very easy to work with.

We have used them before. They actually do the work in house. When we used to take the blinds to a Hunter Douglas location the blind would have to be shipped and the cost was double what this organization charges...plus the wait was at least twice as long if not longer.

Excellent service. Picked up broken shade and returned and reinstalled repaired shade. Also replaced original bracket holding shade. We selected Alamo Blinds and Shutters because they were capable of doing the repair to our shade in their local store vs having to send the shade back to Hunter Douglas for the repair which would have taken approximately 2 weeks. Alamo had our shade repaired and back to us in 5 days. The cost for the service was very reasonable. In addition, they offer a senior discount. We have many Hunter Douglas custom Roman shades and will definitely use Alamo Shades and Shutters for any future repairs!!!

I have used this company for years -- as far back when it was called and quot;The Blindary.and quot; I do miss the same-day service that was offered before, but it is still a great service. All my blinds were removed and taken to be cleaned on a Monday morning, and returned and installed on Wednesday afternoon. In the meantime, I was able to purchase paper blinds for $5 each for the windows I wanted temporarily covered. The temporaries would have been fine, except I currently have three kittens that had other ideas about paper covers! The blinds were returned cleaned and looked brand new! The technician -- whose name I can't recall -- was excellent! He took extra care to ensure everything went smoothly, and worked within my crazy schedule. He was very kind and went above and beyond in tolerating the assistance offered by my dog and kittens who wanted to help. I will definitely use this company again.

It was very frustrating. We ordered the shutters in late September, 2012, and we were told it would be six to eight weeks to build the shutters and install them. At eight weeks, we began calling (most of the time our calls were not returned). By December they came to install. However, one of the shutters had been built incorrectly and did not fit the window. They remeasured and we began the process all over again. Our followup calls were not returned until the shutter was finished.
They finally gave us an 8% discount but not until we started complaining to the owner. We realize that the office staff were probably the problem but it was them that we had to deal with each time. In the end, the owner told us that he reorganized the staff and we took that to mean that the problematic person who we complained about was let go. Subsequently, we found out she was still there.
In good conscience, we could not recommend this company.

We removed the broken shade and took it to their store. (There is a fee to pick-up/return and re-hang). Pleasant staff. We were told 2-3 business days for the repair. They called when the repair proved to be more extensive, and again to ask what length we wanted for the cord. They did not recommend further services. Done in a timely manner and very well done.

Did not replace parts as originally suggested, but found a way to repair blind without expense of additional parts. Very satisfied

We needed to have the cloth tape changed on our existing wooden blinds as we were repainting a our kitchen a different color. Alamo blinds was able to do the work in a reasonable amount of time for a reasonable price. Everyone was very friendly when we went to the store to pick out a color for the new cloth tape. They did not have the color we wanted in stock but were able to order it. The blinds were completed exactly when they said they would be. The only minor complaint I had was that their hours (open untill 4 and closed on the weekends) made it a bit difficult to pick up/drop off the binds, although I understand that they will come to your house if you choose.

I was very pleased with the work. A large heavy wooded kitchen blind's cord broke. I called Alamo and was told to "bring it right over". I explained the importance of a rushed job as the blind fronted our home and it was needed for privacy. The work was completed in two days. I highly recommend this company

I used this company when it was The Blindery and was very pleased with the service. I was sort of surprised that my trip and same-day service charge was now $100 rather than the $25 I paid when it was The Blindery. Although they did a great job cleaning my shades and shutters, I was very disappointed with the customer service I received afterward. The representative measured two windows as I wanted to replace the blinds with shutters. He said he would call me in a couple days with the quote. I waited a week and nothing, so I called the office. I was told someone would call me right back with a price quote. I never heard from them again. This is the only thing standing in the way of me giving them an A.

I'm too sure about the date of service. We have had the shades for about 6 months or so. Brian came, measured and Alana got back to me with the estimate. Brian was very professional, friendly and had good suggestions. I found it quicker to communicate with them via email as their phone always went to voicemail. They are a small company so I can understand plus I find it easier to communicate via email as well. The shades came in on time and Brian came and installed them within a week suiting my schedule. Shades work perfectly. Haven't had any trouble with them but they have a good warranty (Hunter-Douglas) and I know I can call on Alamo with any problem we might have.

This was a big job with lots of motorized Hunter-Douglas blinds! They were 15 years old and Brian came out to test them before we sold the house. About 9 of them were broken, so he took those with him. Most were sent to Hunter-Douglas for repair/restringing, but HD wouldn't accept a couple of them since they had been altered during installation. Brian was able to work with these in his shop and find a way to fix them. This helped us tremendously. Last stage of the project was for Brian to reinstall the blinds. He was delayed for a couple of weeks due to a family emergency, but I appreciated that he owned up to the error with graciousness. The blinds were ultimately reinstalled by the time we needed them. Brian and his wife, Alana, who runs the office, were always very professional and courteous, and it was a pleasure working with them.

They went out of their way to work with my schedule. I was very impressed with the entire process. I have used this service before when it was called "The Blindery" -- at first I was concerned when I was told they had purchased that business, but everything went smoothly. The blinds and shutter look as good as new

The person I talked with on the phone was very nice. Service was prompt. Trey (the person who actually came to our home) was courteous and knew what he was doing.
