Airspeed Heating and Cooling

We contacted AirSpeed on recommendation of a family friend, after receiving what seemed like a VERY pricey estimate on repair/replacement of one of our HVAC units in our home, by another vendor, AGXX's. We had used this prior company since 1999, but recently noticed a change in their approach, including an initial service call followed by a "consult" from another service person, who seemed to function more as a sales rep. They were prepared to do a complete replacement of both outside fan/coil in indoor units, plenum replacements, and filtration for approximately $11,800. I was delayed in ordering for three days while securing financing (the vendor's bank would only cover part), I was informed that I had "missed the window" for special discounts, and now I could expect to get a much lower-efficiency system for nearly the same cost. Today, John, the AirSpeed rep arrived as scheduled, examined both indoor and outdoor components, and concluded that a breaker on the outside unit was disconnected, and one of the two switches was not functioning. After replacing the switch and re-activating the breaker, he re-checked the system, and reported an air temperature of 61 degrees exiting the unit! He even applied a fungicide chemical to the intake. Total cost: $79.00 While not meaning to impugne our former HVAC service provider, and while planning to wait a couple of days before completely accepting that our now-repaired system is "out of the woods," I must compliment AirSpeed for their professionalism, honesty and value. We will definitely be using them in the future as our NEW HVAC provider!
