Affordable Windows of Texas

I am really happy with my entire experience with Michael and Affordable Windows of Texas. The cost is 1/4 of what you will pay with the "big names" and the quality is the exact same. The installation crew was professional and did an amazing job. I cannot recommend them anymore, and you will be glad you called.

Mike McKinney came in at half what the other company bid and was very easy to work with. His guys were very pleasant and thoughtful and the house looks amazaing with the new windows and doors. And, after only 4 months, I have already gotten a $439 credit to my energy bill!!!

It started great. Mike gave us an excellent quote that was affordable for us. He was very attentive before the installation. Once the windows were installed and we paid, the customer service went down hill. I had to pick up a lot of broken glass and debris. Some window frames are scratched and bent. The same day that the windows were installed one of the pieces of glass was cracked and one of his employees was aware of this. The windows look great from the exterior and we've had people ask us but I warn them that once they are installed and paid for good luck on getting these guys back to fix any flaws. Contacted Mike in July to follow up since I hadn't heard back from anyone. And then contacted him again this month. He dropped off some materials that are still waiting to be installed. We had ours installed 5 months ago and still are waiting for those repairs. Disappointed because I am all about referring. I have shared his number but tell them that we are still waiting for our issues to be resolved. Those that know are not calling just to see how long it takes for resolution.

It went Very well, not perfect, but close - excellent service for price for sure. Had to request some additional re-caulking - they probably would have done it without asking, but wanted to make sure it got done. We had a little bit of cleanup after they left, but they cleaned up 98%. Missing one screen and two arrived with holes - replacements ordered. Wincore 5400 Windows are not the (supposed) best available, but they are VERY NICE and exceptional for the price. We would have paid more than double for any substantial increase in quality, and we not convinced that the more expensive brands really are any better - left feeling it is all marketing gimmicks. The windows were approximately 70% of the what we paid. Also replaced a patio door with a Simonton Inovo door we had seen at the home show. We didn't have the opportunity to see a Wincore door in person and since it is used more than any other door in the house, we weren't comfortable buying a door sight-unseen. Love the Simonton (MUCH more than we liked Simonton windows). The door was about 30% of the total we spent.

Professional, on schedule, 2 days to install 17 windows. They look beautiful. Best window design suggestion, compared to 3 other salesmen we talked to. Best price. Mike knows everyone's windows. Impressed by capability. Not bogged down by overhead of marketing and salesmen. Found them on recommendation of neighbor who was happy with his work doing their windows.
