Adam Wilson Custom Homes

After 6 months of little to no supervision, little to no progress, multiple problems, we asked to terminate our contract with Adam Wilson Custom Homes. Mr. Wilson came to our home on 12/15/2014 with a termination agreement in hand and said once we sign it, he would reimburse us the overage of $72,000 that had not been spent to date. We had already paid Adam Wilson Custom Homes $111,779.28. In the termination agreement, there was a clause stating Adam Wilson Custom Homes would not be responsible for work past or future work, but when I asked about this, he said "if you find something that needs to be fixed, I'm happy to fix it. I understand we are terminating our agreement before any inspections have been done." When we hired our new contractor and asked the engineer (the same engineer hired by Adam Wilson) to inspect the roof and sign off on it, his only comment was, "tear the @#$% thing down!" A few weeks later, I asked the architect to come out to look at the roof and she did. She was not only in agreement with the engineer (that the roof was not structurally sound), it was not built to the plans. She called and wrote a letter to Adam Wilson pointing these issues out. Mr Wilson replied to the architect by telling her that he was no longer responsible for any work done on the home since we signed the termination agreement. The cost to replace the roof is $41,000.
