I had a nightmare experience with an A/C contractor that installed central heat and air in my historic home. They installed the unit, but did a poor job. The return air ductwork was not sized correctly, and it made a terrible noise. The closet that was converted into a return air compartment was unfinished and dangerously close to the flue pipe for the furnace. After a lot of pain and strife, I was done with my former A/C contractor. Enter Alan Rader, with Adair Heating and Cooling. Alan came out to my house quoted me a price, and stayed true to his estimate. He re-sized and re-routed my ductwork to get it functioning properly. He changed out some of the cheap quality materials to steel sheet metal for durability. He took care of my safety concerns with the flue pipe. Alan used his skills as a re-modeler to properly finish out the closet that the other contractor had destroyed. Alan had his crew re-textured the entire hallway that the closet was in, so that everything matched perfectly- at no extra charge. Also at no extra charge, Alan changed out the cheapo thermostat that the other contractor gave me, to a programmable thermostat for efficiency. Alan took the time to make sure I knew how to use it, leaving me his cell phone number in case I had any questions. Alan is one of the most sincere and personable people I have ever met. Adair is a small company and you deal with Alan directly. Unlike a lot of A/C contractors Alan truly cares about his work. I wish I had hired him from the start. I literally gave Alan the key to my house, and he took care of things as if it was his own house. If anyone needs A/C work you can't go wrong with Alan.
