This company "gets it"! Called for an estimate and the very next day a professional representative, Preston (owner/manager), arrived on time and walked our job with us. We had several trees to remove and one to shape. He took the time to understand what we wanted to accomplish, he took several pictures and we received a very competitive price. After getting a couple more estimates we booked with Action Tree. The work crew showed up on time, the lead walked the job with me, and they were very meticulous about the project and worked with me to open up the view in our yard without taking out unnecessary trees. They were hard working, professional and conscientious about cleaning up the job site. This was a a big job and they handled it just as I had hoped! We've used other tree companies in the past but this experience will put Action Tree at the top of our list in the future! Great job, guys!

I've written about Action Tree Service since 2006. Five times. All were routine trimmings but one was post wind damage. On this occasion I contacted the owner, Marcus, about a routine trimming with removal of limbs above the sidewalk and street. I was not in a hurry and advised anytime during the live oak trimming season except December when some Xmas decorations would impede the work. As usual they were busy and I was advised they'd get back to me. About a month later I was given a work day. Six men, one a crew leader, arrived. The completed the work in about two hours. They are a well oiled crew and work well together. The primary two or three trimmers climb the trees. They exhibit good safety standards for themselves and the house and plantings. They listened to my wishes and discuss the work ahead and during the trimming. They rake the yard and blow the yard and street leaving it better than before they arrive. Yes, a few small pieces will fall with the next good wind. All cuttings are shredded. I have made at least five reviews on this company, perhaps beginning in 2006. They arrived timely and called ahead. I find the price fair based on the large vehicle, equipment used and number of workers.

We obtained bids from several tree trimming services, and also checked on customer feedback. Action Tree Service of San Antonio gave us a quote lower than the others, and was also highly recommended by one of our neighbors. so we decided to hire them. They were able to fit us into their schedule 3 weeks early, and brought a large enough crew to finish all the tree trimming in one day, including hauling away all the cut branches. They also cleaned up all the loose debris on our yard, leaving everything looking great. The price we paid was well worth it, as they not only trimmed lots & lots of trees, but also completely removed some very large trees that were encroaching on our house. We will definitely use Action Tree Service of San Antonio again when we need further tree trimming, and we highly recommend them to others.

We use them yearly. They've always done great work. They never drop limbs or leave anything.

We have used Action Tree Service for over ten years and I first reported about them on Angie's List in 2006.  I contacted the owner, Marcus, and he made an appointment to review the needed work.  I told him I wished to wait a few weeks until some lawn Xmas ornaments were removed.  I then again contacted Marcus with my preferred dates.  He advised he'd call in a few days so we could make a date convenient to both parties.  He then called and we selected a day for the service.  Years ago Marcus trimmed our trees with a great support crew.
The crew of six arrived at 8:30 AM lead by Steve.  They finished in just under 3 1/2 hours.  The spent much time high in the trees trimming dead growth and small limbs.  They understood my wish to make the trees attractive, but to protect the house, property and trees the next few years.  They have all the proper equipment, utilize safety equipment, look and act professional, and all work all the time.  They are extra careful to not have cut limbs of size hit the house.
 If I were to own a business, I'd be very pleased to have such a hardworking and coordinated group of employees.

Mr Belino has a wonderful permanent crew that provides friendly, courteous, and professional work.  They arrived on time and the crew worked the entire 7 hours.  It is an exceptionally run company/crew compared to most service organizations I have dealt with when having work done around our home.  The Crew Manager is so pleasant to work with and highly professional.  He also worked just as hard and as many hours as his crew.  
I highly recommend Action Tree Service for trimming, pruning, stump removal, cutting down trees, and clearing dead limbs from acreage.   
We will continue to use them as needed.  You will NOT go wrong in hiring this company.

This was the second time we've used Action. They were very easy to deal with, fair and personable. The job was done professionally and cleanup was complete. We would not hesitate to highly recommend them. It's refreshing to have such a good experience with a contractor.

5 men @ 7 hrs. The crew including the supervisor worked NON-STOP. Very efficient, had all tools necessary to complete the work. I plan to use them again to trim more of my trees (2 acres).

The tree was looked at, photoed, and videoed during the bidding process.  They arrived on the date and time promised.  Their work is meticulous and professional.  They removed the tree without hitting the roof with any pieces.  Their communication during the job is commendable.  These guys don't  just come in a start cutting.  They look at and discuss each cut before they make it.  They also removed the stump about 6" down and were able to able to avoid hitting a water line that was really close.  All pieces and debris were removed and the area was raked and washed down.  These guys did a wonderful job and were very nice to do business with.

Outstanding service, price, professionalism plus they are well insured which was very important considering the scope of the work.  We needed a very large oak tree which was located inside the carport, directly next to the house with a huge canopy extending directly over the roof..  A large crew of 7 or 8 men arrived promptly and got right to work.  They were polite, clean and fast, finishing up in less than 3 hours. They even helped me with a side bush which was above and beyond.  They did an outstanding job and we highly recommend them.

Frank came and we talked about what needed to be done in our yard.  He informed me that they do not just cut off a branch or two, they trim trees to make them healthy and for longevity.  I was impressed with that.  We then went through the whole yard, front and back, and discussed what would be best.  My daughter and I had ideas of our own and Frank tweeked those ideas to make the most sense.  He then quoted the job and lined us up on their calendar for the following week. 

When his son Mark and the crew arrived the following week, they did just what was discussed plus.. the helped me clean up the yard.  I was out raking the rest of the yard and before they all left, the guys picked up all the debrie and hauled that away as well. The job this crew did was above and beyond what we expected and we will definitely use them again in future.

We picked this company because we wanted longevity and this is a family owned, 3 generation company.  We need to support this sort of company as this is what America is all about.  Thank you Frank, Mark and all your crew for a great job., 

They are timely reasonable and clean up everything not just what they have caused also the tree debris that is already on the ground. They are really nice and they care for the trees. From my perspective it appears to be first rate. I would use them in the future.

Frank gave an estimate of $675 after reviewing the trees.  They then scheduled the job and arrived within the time slot.  The work was quick and efficient as was their previous work at our house.  This crew is a well oiled machine.  Each man knew what to do when.  They work quickly but carefully.  For the amount of work and the machinery involved, I think the price is very reasonable.  They know what needs to be done, but are respectful of the tree's value in a lawn.  They paint all large wounds which is recommended in this area on oak trees.  They police the area carefully in the cleanup.  I really recommend this family operation.  Frank is the father and does all estimates. Son Marcus usually leads the crew, and today his son lead the crew.

A wind storm broke a medium size high limb. I contacted Action as I had used them before. Of course they were busy following the storm. Within a few days they came by and verified my thought that the limb was not in danger of falling and gave me an estimate. A week or so later they did the work. I thought the price was outstanding for the trip and work.

Very good overall. Had gotten an estimate two weeks ago and they were willing to do it last week but I was going to be out of town, so they said they would call me on one of the days I had designated. Yesterday, they called kinda late and said they would be here around 2pm. They were here by 12:05pm (though didn't call in advance). They got right to work no messing around. Had 5 people all going at once one each tree. Finished in about 90 minutes! Fantastic considering the heat. Very professional. Family owned and operated business and professional arborists who obviously want to give a good job but not harm the trees. Important for me. For me, anything over $200 is alot BUT it was definitely well worth it and money well spent! I would recommend them and use them again in the future!
