A/C Doctors

I have been a customer of AC Doctors since July 2016. At that time, the heat pump condenser in my smaller upstairs unit was not working properly. I called AC Doctors and they responded. When they arrived, they were very quick to tell me that they could not repair the unit and that I needed a totally new unit. The unit could not be repaired, only replaced. I had AC Doctors replace the unit and they came out several times in following years for routine maintenance. Recently, in June 2023, I found water leaking from the main unit air handler. Again, I called AC Doctors and they came out to take a look at the problem. They opened the air handler and said there was a cracked drain pan. They also stated that they saw a rusty evaporator coil and that I should replace the entire air handler unit. The repair technicians contacted their supervisor and their supervisor told them that AC Doctors would not repair the cracked drain pan. Once again, AC Doctors said that they would not repair the unit and that I needed a totally new unit. Once again, AC Doctors said the unit could not be repaired, only replaced. So, this time, I contacted my neighbor, a licensed mechanical contractor, and he repaired the entire air handler unit, without a replacement. Now, there is no water leak whatsoever. This experience with AC Doctors tells me that when a customer pays AC Doctors for a service call to repair a component or solve a problem, AC Doctors takes the easy way out and recommends a total replacement. So, paying for a service call to repair only gets you an estimate for replacement. Perhaps AC Doctors does not have the expertise to repair, only to install. Buyer Beware: AC Doctors will not be interested in repairing your unit/component or solving your problem. AC Doctors is only interested in up-selling their customers into buying replacement equipment.

They were good. They came in and did what they have to do and I have no problem with them.

They're responsive. They're awesome when they come. They give me good advice.

We get personalized service. The cleanup is superb. It's usually 1 person.

We've been using them for years. They are the first person I would call for any problems. They are prompt and wonderful when they come. I couldn't be more pleased with them.

Technician was very good and on time, requested 1-3pm and was called tech was there at 1:10pm.   First tech checked the outside unit and once turned on he could see that compressor was not kicking on.  He tested the capacitor and told me that was the problem.  He suggested a new capacitor and starter kit to hopefully get my 11 year old system running once again.  I was also given the option that if it doesn't work he would not charge me for it and give me a cost of a replacement unit.  I know i need another, but as we all know we try and squeeze out the life of an old system before we have to sell a kidney to replace the complete ac unit.  So with the new capacitor an started kit and fingers crossed we turn it on and everything starts working, what a sigh of relief.  Tech comes into the house after adding shoes covers to his feet and checks the cooling informing me that I need a few pounds of refrigerant since the system is not cooling the way it should which added another 70 dollars to the cost.  And with that things were finally cooling off...thanks God and thank you A/c Doctors for doing a great job.  They were both professional and informative on what they were doing before they do it.  I have used the twice before and haven't had any reason to call anybody else.  I do wish they could provide some sort of coupon for services and such, but for now i was very satisfied with the work and will recommend them to anybody that needs AC service.  Thanks for taking the time to read this.

He checked the entire air conditioning system and made a thorough search for a rythmic noise that we had been experiencing.  He was able to rule out any possible air conditioning or damper equipment noise...probably related to the solar heating system.

His prices were fare and he explained the options and what was the next step. He also did a full check of my system and let me know of any other problems.
