Last year we became new pool owners when we bought our house in Jan 2011. Since I had never cared for a pool before, I wasn't sure what to do and didn't mess with the pool at all for several months. Needless to say that by June it was very very green and cloudy with black along the walls and pine needles on the bottom. I used a service web site to look for pool care companies. I gave my contact info and was supposed to be contacted by three different companies. Scott with Absolute Pools called me right away. He came out within that week to service our pool and turn it clean & clear again. We decided to have them perform weekly maintenance. They include chemicals with their service and bring their own vacuum. I haven't had any problems with their service and am very pleased with the outcome.
Scott was quite helpful on the phone when I called in May to see if he could clean my son's pool in New Braunfels. I was so pleased with his work ($400) that I set up for him to maintain it weekly and automatically bill my credit card ($342.65). Since he didn't have any business near them, there was an additional transportation cost, but I was willing to pay it because I liked his work and him so much, and thought maybe he could develop his business there through recommendations, which would bring that cost down. For his regular maintenance visits, he did not leave any notice so that my son would know he'd been there, so we just assumed he was coming. Unfortunately, recently I discovered the ecosystem forming again and called to see what had happened. He said he'd been sick for 2 weeks from mixing muriatic acid with liquid chlorine (something even a high school chemistry student knows not to do!) and hadn't been there for a month or two. He never called to let me know the pool was not being kept up, which is why it is so bad now. He claimed he didn't charge me for the times he didn't go but also said he'd mixed my account up with someone else's and claims he'd charged $215.00 that I can't find a record of. He also claimed he sent me copies of his bills, but I never received them. Clearly he is a hazard to his own health as well as to that of the owners of a pool.
Description of Work: Cleaned a pool that had become quite an interesting ecosystem and returned weekly to keep it clean (for awhile, at least!)
