Overall it was a satisfactory job. After initial contact, and a missed phone call that delayed the performance of an estimate on the amount of area to be tiled. Met with installer a few days later, in late October, and he performed the estimate and agreed to perform the work even though it was a very small job (40 sq. ft.) of a second bathroom. He indicated that it would probably be November before he could start to which we agreed. Novermber came and no contact from the installer. After a couple of weeks I initiated contact via email, twice, without response. After that I left a couple of voicemails on his phone - once again without response. Finally I contacted the contracting company that refered this installer and she kept me on the line while she contacted the installer. He came on the line and said that he'd seen my emails and listened to my voicemails but that he hadn't had time to respond. While on the line he indicated that he would be in touch the following week to set up a start-work date. A week came and went so I left another voicemail to which he responded via text message that he would be able to start the following week. That next week, on a Thursday, 29 of Oct., he called and said he could start as soon as the next morning. That put me in a bind, as I needed to remove a vanity, so I asked if he could start that Saturday and he agreed. He arrived on Saturday and got right to work. He got the tile installed by day's end. He said he'd come back on Monday to grout and finish up. He also said that he needed to get a bathtub "strip" as well. On Monday he texted me that the strip was not in stock that day but he could get it in the morning, Tuesday, and he'd come and finish. He arrived on Tuesday and grouted, set the commode back in and installed the bathtub strip. While actually performing work in his speciality this installer is an excellent choice. He offers suggestions on how the layout would best look and gets consensus before he begins. The less-than-professional conduct, which makes this less than a glowing review, mostly involved communicating with me, his customer, on delays and other unforeseen events. He is amiable and very skilled and follows through on his stated procedures. I would recommend this installer if asked.
