"It was a pleasure meeting Mary and Larry, they are wonderful and fun to work with. I don't know if it's because the first day we met I fell flat on my behind on a muddy slope that they would smile when they saw me or because they are so easy to work with. I loved working for them and would go back anytime."
"First of all I have to say that Mrs. Juanita B. is one of the sweetest clients I have met. She is very polite, well-educated and intelligent. I have to apologize for leaving mud on the sidewalk and even though it was raining and we were in a hurry to leave, she is right, I should have at least have offered to clean up after myself. I have no excuse for that. I take full responsibility for that and it is a learning experience for us as a team. Every part of the irrigation system's wiring was altered, we were very confused trying to figure it out, so yes we had to charge her to re-wire it at her request. Initially, when I arrived she asked me to please fix the water hammer problem that she had.. Normally water hammer issues pertain to the house plumbing, in this particular case it was being caused when the irrigation system would shut off. I tried to test the system and the system would not turn on because the wiring was faulty. She asked me to fix it. It was also very evident that she had a dysfunctional programming clock. One of those clocks that are bought at a famous home appliance store (Orbit brand) which are very inexpensive. She also asked me to change it, so yes we had to charge for that. On the third day of working and as we walked the job, I told her that she had no master valve and her backflow device was of small capacity and outdated, she told me that the system was 27 years old and that it needed updating. We do not push customers to update any system, but we do inform clients what is wrong and it is their choice to proceed or not. Installing a master valve saves the customer from having a water spill, we did not push or ask for the new valves to be installed, bud yes we did inform her. As we walked out of the job I told Mrs. B. that she could probably fix the water hammer by getting a vacuum breaker. She had the choice of buying it for $28 at a famous home appliance store or she could order it at Amazon.com $6.00. She ordered at Amazon for $6.00, after it arrived, she called me to come over and install it whenever I was in the area, to which I responded "Yes" Now, she lives in the most exclusive part of San Antonio (The Dominions), getting into her place is not easy and it is only done at the request of the customer. I did not get a job there in the next few days. What I did get was a terrible excruciating and numbing pain in both hands, so I went to get treatment in Mexico. I was there for several days while the testing and treatment were performed. The problem was cervical and not what was thought to be a heart condition. When I returned I saw this rating from Mrs. B. so I immediately called her to apologize for leaving mud in the sidewalk and to explain again why we had to do all the jobs that we did at her own request. I told her that my principles as a person were not to steal or cheat people out of their money and that I was willing to refund her all monies paid by her, including labor and materials, that was an offer for $2.500.00. She explained to me that she filled the review while being very frustrated and that it was not necessary for me to refund her anything. I told Mrs. B. that We as a company stand behind our work, labor and materials for a period of 3 years and that if anything goes wrong with our performed work, we would repair it free of charge. We use the best quality parts and perform the best quality of work. We are very proud of our work and work ethics, but I do not agree that some mud on the sidewalk should cost us 1.5 stars."
"This was a very very dirty job, the customer told me 2 plumbers and the city couldn't find the leak, it had been there for many years and the ground turned to a black stinking mud hole. We had to empty it by hand (or it would have to have been 4 times more expensive) for the fear of breaking more pipes with equipment. The Back Flow Preventor was broken and had a very small leak which made a pool of water with harmful bacteria. Most of the money went to pay for the parts and the reluctant labor. Certainly the dirtiest job in my 13 years as an Irrigation serviceman. I disagree that the value for the money was a 3 star, because it's clear to me that nobody else would have done the job without charging thousands of dollars. We threw away shoes and clothing and the stink was on our bodies for many days. On our company's side, we came out even in terms of monetary gain. As for the customer the gain is very clear, she saved on her water bill enough money to pay for the repair in the first month after the leak was fixed."
