Furniture - Sales
It happened that Reed did not have the bar stools or part of the other furniture in stock . He intended to sell me the stuff on his showroom floor as "new" instead of "used" like it really was (no special fabric on it but I did not know he was going to cheat me). This furniture was dirty and had been touched (a lot) and sat on and laid on by other customers and I didn't even know for how long it had been sitting on the showroom floor. I knew it wasn't "New" furniture. This is what he sold me. Then things happened and I did not open the business as planned. I called Reed to get my money back. He refused and told me I was getting nothing, no money and no furniture and screw me. I told him I would get one or the other. He said I could have the 12 bar stools. He said he had to order those. He also told me then about the furniture on the floor being the furniture I had been going to get. This is when I found out he was going to cheat me. He had planned on giving me used furniture rather than new. His prices are higher than anyone in town and the quality is worse than any one in town. I had been planning on using his store because of buying local and trying to be a good business owner. I did not realize others were not like me. They have no intention of being honest. Reed planned to cheat me from day one. He lied about having to buy special fabric. I thought the man knew what he was talking about and I didn't think he had any reason to lie to me. Of course he had a reason, MONEY was his reason and GREED! He lies to everyone daily. His warehouse is about as big as most living rooms so maybe 15 by 20 feet. His showroom is about 2 times that size. The furniture on the floor stays there a long time. I went there several times in 3 months looking before I made a commitment. It was still the same and in the same places. They don't even clean the place. I ended up with the 12 bar stools but I had to get the police to go there with me because Reed had threatened me. He told me he would make me sorry if I walked into his store. I had to also take my husband and my male cousin because I was not sure when the police would show up. I got the bar stools and had to sell them one at a time for half of what I paid. Reed had overcharged me terribly and the bar stools could be bought elsewhere for less. It took me over a year to sell them. I did not get to open my business. I lost a lot of money. A lot of people in San Angelo are responsible for that. But Russell Reed at Trend Furniture is one of the worst. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM TREND FURNITURE!!! PRICES ARE TOO HIGH. FURNITURE IS NOT NEW. FURNITURE IS TRASH AND USED!!!!!
