Went pretty well, nothing was lost, stolen or broken. Move was just across town.

When the movers arrived, three guys assessed how much furniture and boxes we had. We had packed our items ourselves and placed most of the boxes in the garage. We also had a storage unit that we had rented and moved most of the garage items there and packed those items in boxes. My husband was initially concerned about whether or not the movers brought a big enough truck. When my husband scheduled the movers, we were quoted the price of approx. $1600 and told that a semi would be provided. My husband spoke with the movers and asked that they go get the semi that was promised to us. They called and were told that the two semis the company had were already in use for other moves. There was a question as to whether or not the movers would be able to load all of our items into their truck. The movers got busy loading things. The issues we experienced that we were not pleased with was one guy was using the dolly to roll boxes up the ramp and lost control and all the boxes fell off the ramp and onto the ground. I witnessed this and they did not know that I saw it. They did not come tell me what happened. When I asked what was in those boxes, they said, and quot;Oh, some candles, and some canned goods, I don't know.and quot; Additionally, they continued to make comments about how much stuff we had and kept saying, and quot;Who needs all this stuff?and quot; We had also been told from the beginning that the movers would go to the city we were moving to on the same day that they loaded our items and would stay in a hotel and come over to the new house early the next morning to unload our items. We find out from the movers that is not the plan at all. They said they would come the next day, leave our town at 8 in the morning and make the 3 hour drive to our new home. We were also then informed that there would be an additional $150 charge for an overnight storage fee. I informed them that I was not pleased with that because that is not what we were told. When my husband called the moving the company to inquire about why we weren't provided a semi and why the movers were not going to be getting a hotel room in the new city, the man he spoke with was very rude and just told my husband that he needed to stop saying and quot;you told meand quot; because he was not the guy that my husband originally spoke with. The next day, the movers arrived on time and began unloading our items. The comments continued about how much and quot;stuffand quot; we have and even making fun of some items we have. We were not charged the $150 storage fee, but the final price was more than we were quoted. The company is paid by the hour and so of course the movers took their time and took numerous breaks which lengthened the time they were on the job. Another box was dropped and this one had dishes in it. I was told that it was my fault because of my packing job. No matter how well a box of dishes is packed, it is not going to survive being dropped. Of course the company is not responsible because their fine print says that they are only responsible for broken items if they were hired to pack the boxes. The movers themselves were nice enough (except for the comments about our items). We bought lunch for them and invited them to sit down and eat with us. I just find this company to be very unprofessional in not providing the truck that was promised, not coming to see what items will be moved in order to provide an accurate quote, and not accepting responsibility when we were told one thing and receive another. We had to use a trailer to move some things on our own, our friend took the day off from work and drove a rented U-Haul of our things from storage to our new home, and we still had to go back and get more that was left behind. We had a 1700 square foot house that we were moving from and it is very disappointing that the movers could not provide a truck big enough to move all of our items. Also, this company is Angelo Apartment Movers and Lonestar Moving - two companies that are owned by the same people and that have merged. We called Lonestar Moving to book the movers and we ended up with Angelo Apartment Movers.

Upon arrival they took a tour and advised me that I would need another truck and another mover...boosting cost by $35 per hour plus another mileage fee of $35.00. With 3 movers it still took 6 hours to load and another 3 to unload, all the while complaining that I had and quot;too much stuffand quot;. Two pieces of furniture were damaged. Upon calling the office the next morning I was pleasently surpirsed that their response was to immediately schedule repair of damaged items. I think these movers would do well with an apartment sized move, but did not seem to care about the furniture. The office staff, however, were anxious to make necessary repairs promptly.

I had to change the moving date, this was done with no drama. These folks made moving almost stress free. I won't use them again because I am never moving again! But if YOU are moving I would not hesitate to use them.
