Hartman Services

Description of Work: These people were assigned by American Home Shield (Home Warranty) to fix a leak and my shower diverter valve after the first company they assigned never showed up and didn't answer my email. Two men came out the first day and took my shower diverter valve. They also said it would be $200+ to have access into the wall to fix the waste and overflow leak. The plumber that USAA sent out said it would be $50 to have access into the wall but another $400 to fix the leak. So, I used my home warranty instead which meant it would be $60 for the service call. I told them there was a hole in the wall underneath the wainscoting. My sister and I removed the wainscoting ourselves. It was just one panel. The plumbers were here the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and said it would be next week before they could return because the diverter valve would be hard to find and they had 5 or 6 families coming over for Thanksgiving. (Not my fault they over invited people.) I waited until the next Thursday with no word from them. I called AHS and asked for the plumber's number. AHS called themselves and advised me the plumbers would call me by the end of the day, Thursday. I told her I'd wait until noon Friday and then call them. Unfortunately, by noon on Friday, I was in the emergency room, then in the ICU for 3 days and then the progressive ward until the end of the day the NEXT Thursday. I didn't know the plumbers number and had a lot to deal with at the time. They NEVER called. My husband came home from Afghanistan for R&R because I was in the hospital. He tried to call and see what happened to them. They promised him they would call AND come out Monday between 9 and 1:30. When they didn't show up by 2:30, he called AHS. AHS called the plumbers and they said it was a 2 man job and they only had 1 person that day, so they didn't come out. They reset their appointment for between 10 and 3 on Wednesday (December 14, 2011). I received a phone call while my new home health nurse was admitting me and my husband was on the phone doing other things while he was here. As soon as the nurse left, I started checking voicemails and returning calls. One of them was the Hartman Services. The girl said if they didn't hear from us within an hour, they would cancel the appointment. It was one hour and 10 minutes when I called her back. She then said they would have to reschedule our appointment to the next Monday, December 19th. (Remember, this started the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, November 23rd!) They don't have time to fix the leak. We cannot have our foundation problem assessed or fixed until the leak is stopped and the ground dries! These are among the worst contractors for keeping appointments. If you need something done, I suggest you DO NOT call these people.
