RS Gate & Supply

Terrible. Wish I had checked references or with friends prior to using this person. Randy was very quick to respond. I called him 1/3/23, he came on 1/4/23 and said he would check the actuator and the board later. On his way to the "ranch". On 1/6/23 WITH NO NOTICE, he was at my gate & had removed my control board & actuator. No discussion of what was wrong. He replaced my 835/836 control board with a 635 Apollo board. Work was done before I could get to the gate. He was in a hurry. My fault: I paid him $1,650 on the spot. He would email me a receipt!!! Called & sent text 6 more times. Still no receipt, no control board manual, no paperwork. He always blames his wife, which I'm told is his habit. The option of not paying just means he will come in the middle of the night and take the actuator. On my previous board, I had specifications so I could adjust/fix when necessary. Have nothing on this one. Just my bank copy of the check that Dana Shaw deposited. Please get someone else to work on your gate opener.

At least 4 or 5 days went by and I texted him to find out about estimate, he told me he didn't have those figures at that time. I was told that they had been emailed to me I check my email daily & I know for a fact they weren't there. I texted him again & he told me he wasn't computer literate he would have his wife send them, I still didn't receive them. I texted him & told him to call me he called me back right away & texted me the estimate of 5800.00, I told him that was more then I wanted to spend and I would like to refigure using different materials, he told me he would do that & get back with me. I let another 3 or 4 days go by and texted him again he told me he was out of town & didn't have the new estimate he would get it to me when he got back home. Another 2 or 3 days go by & I hear nothing I called him on June 29 and told him to please call he or come out & revisit job site for new estimate. It is now June 30 let's see if I hear from him today. The reason I'm being so persistent is because it is difficult to get people to come out & give fencing estimates. For instance I had one other guy come out and he wanted me to go buy all the supplies needed to do job and he would supply labor, if I'm going to do that I might as well do the job myself. I also called two other guys & was told they would call back but they didn't.

The repair went fine and our gate is operating as usual. In the past he has serviced the gate parts to keep them operating properly.
