Work was beautiful and pricing excellent. Project took about 8 week to start from book date as they are busy so plan accordingly. Communication as far as timeline of contractors, choices, etc. could have been improved. It sometimes took a few days for someone to reach us back. Entire length of project took longer than expected from beginning to end. It was supposed to be about a 2 week project but took closer to 3-4 weeks and this was not due to weather. There were minor things that had to be done on the back end after completion but were done in a timely manner and to satisfaction. They are very friendly people and we were overall very pleased.

The price was fair. Everything went very well. They constructed a beautiful patio ahead of scheduled and without any issues.

Decathlon completed the project according to the agreed estimate. I consider their work for us to be very good.

Excellent job!  Top to bottom, everything was great.  They are booked tight, so it took about 9 weeks to start, but well worth the wait.
Easy to work with and they took care of everything.  Absolutely everything.  The made it look like it was part of the original build, but much nicer.  Great people who do what they say.

Very happy with the work that Decathlon Construction did at our home! In our initial meeting with Jerry, he was professional and knowledgeable and totally understood what we were looking to have built.  We received the estimate quickly and it was very detailed so that we knew exactly what was being done for the price that we were being quoted.  We had to wait for several weeks before work could begin, but there was communication all along the way.  When work started, the workers who came to our home were respectful and professional and left the area clean each day.  They were so nice to our dogs that I think our dogs were a little sad when the work was complete and they had to leave!  We have had so many compliments on the quality of the work and we could not be more pleased with the completed project.  Thank you, Decathlon for understanding our vision and making it a reality.  We would give you an A+++.  Highly recommend!!!

From beginning to end, this contractor was perfect. Work was detailed and professional in all ways. From receiving the estimate from jerry Terry to the final action s by April Terry. There was never a hassle, they did exactly what they said they would

I am extremely pleased with the results of this project.  All aspects went very smoothly.  The price was not as low as some, but I got a much more comfortable feel on the workmanship and design.  It was not outrageous in the difference.  As I recall it was 3% or 4% higher than the other bids.  The work crew was friendly and efficient.  They did not make a mess of things.  The whole project took about a week.  I have received MANY compliments on the result.

Unlike another company that gave me a quote, Jerry noticed and discussed a lot of details with us, such as the location and function of our existing drainage system and replacing the white trim around an exterior window with stained cedar to match the new structure. Their bid was very competitive, and was broken down by line item. Jerry showed us hundreds of pictures to help us choose the design of our new patio and cover. The workers were very courteous, and readily agreed when I asked them to make a few minor changes. Both city inspectors who came out were very impressed with the quality of the work done on the patio cover. Every question I had was quickly answered via e-mail from Jerry's wife, April. She sent me regular e-mails letting me know what would be happening and when. I am convinced that Decathlon is the best company in the area for patio work, and would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again in the future.

They were great. One of the best companies I've ever worked with. We paid about $6500. They were really professional, the team of people were experienced and they sis this work many times before, they did what they said they would do, they delivered on time, the workmanship was great and I have no criticism at all.

These guys were absolutely amazing. Jerry's ideas and vision were what sold us on him and he did not disappoint. The custom work they did shaving off existing eaves and melding the new construction into the old was more than I could have ever envisioned. This is the way things are supposed to go with a contractor. Very communicative, super professional and high quality work. Would recommend to anyone and did. My neighbor liked the work so much he had Decathlon come out and build one for him too. He describes the work as his favorite addition/update yet on his house.

It could not have gone any better other than better weather. The owners April and Jerry Terry, have been the best. They have both been very professional in all aspects of the project. Jerry came out to give us the original quote (I recevied 3 quotes) and his numbers were not the lowest but they were not the highest either. I belived in him and the representation he made of his business...he knew what he was talking about. There were no additional charges from the original quote, the price was exactly as presented.
I was not disappointed by choosing Decathlon...April did all of the follow up on each stage of the project and she was great. She was responsive to every question or concern we had and responed accordingly in a timely manner at all times. She never left us hanging on what was happeining or what would happen next, that was very important.
The quaility of the work is second to none and all of the individuals who worked on the project were all top notch. Very high quality wood and stone plus the stone mason was a true artist along with guys who poured and stamped the concrete.
If anyone is looking to build or extend a patio you would not be disapponted using this company. I endorse them 100%! It is really nice to see there are companys like this one that and quot;do what they say and say what they doand quot;.

We had a patio built onto my previous home 8
years ago. It was a nightmare. I thought I did my homework but things did not
go well. It was a very stressful experience with a less than expected outcome.
Forward 8 years. We have a new home in need of
a patio.
We contacted several builders. The prices
varied wildly for the same build.
We chose Decathlon Construction as they were
very cost competitive, nice people, and their web site clearly shows they know
what they are doing.
Decathlon Construction just completed our
patio. They exceeded our expectations all the way through this project.
These projects can be stressful or great fun
based on by the contractors and subcontractors.
Our patio was so much fun for us. Everyone at
Decathlon Construction including their subcontractors were a pleasure to work
with.
It was so nice when we got into the details of
the build we never heard, “that costs extra”. It was also amazing when we ran
into small issues, how aggressively they corrected them. Again, exceeding our
expectations.
We were so impressed with the detail quality
of your sub's work.
Their carpenters are truly engineers and
artists. We were amazed with their sound construction and the detail they did
on their finishing work. The time they spent on the trim was amazing. No one
fell asleep in geometry class from this group!
The concrete slab also exceeded our
expectations. The slab they built was exactly what we discussed. Every detail
was included.
The post wraps were nothing short of a work of
art. It was great working with someone open to our ideas and who could combine
them into something reasonable. He created something special and unique for us.
Even the painting was done very well. I am
sort of cursed with the ability to notice the finest details and imperfections.
Everything was perfect.
What also sets Decathlon Construction apart
from their competition is their communication and customer support.
I have spent a lot of time raving about their
technical skills and quality. Equally important is how they (April) was there
along the way offering status updates and comfort.
IMO, skilled tradesmen seldom know how to run
a business. Most have great technical skills but flounder when it comes to
running a company of their own. They typically fail when it comes to customer
interaction and scheduling. Decathlon Construction is clearly different and is
heads above the competition.
They made the process of building our patio a
wonderful experience and most importantly, they built us a patio, which
exceeded our expectations.
I remember my first email to April. She said,
“We will not disappoint you”. That was quite an understatement.
If
you do not consider using Decathlon Construction for your patio, you are really
making a mistake.

Jerry came out to provide an estimate as well as a concept as we have a very irregular shaped area to cover. Jerry was punctual and very knowledgeable. I knew instantly that Decathlon was the contractor to use. I couldn't have been more right in my decision! The job went as planned with no glitches or hiccups. We now have a gorgeous covered patio, or man cave as my wife calls it. That Jerry and Orsin, our foreman, as well as the other team members at Decathlon.

Great job! Priced 1/2 of what two other companies gave--plus quality looks better than my neighbors got. Beams were larger and looked more solid than many others in our area. We had our own concrete contractor, but Jerry set solid piers and left pre-made wooden trim pieces to place on after our concrete guy left. We were impressed. Will use again!!

I think that the quality of the appearance of the patio cover is a lot better than what you normally see. The size of the beams they use is bigger and it is a much nice product.

Jerry was thorough in his estimate, explained everything well, and answered all of our questions. We were immediately impressed with his professionalism, and even more impressed when his team arrived when they said they would, and completed the project on time. I also liked that Jerry broke out his estimate into every aspect of the patio cover, so that we could pick-and-choose how much we wanted to spend (for instance, he noted that he'd charge $500 to stain the patio cover after it was built. To save money, we chose to do the staining ourselves -- a mistake in hindsight. Although we did a good job, it took us an entire month worth of weekends! Well worth what he was charging). The quality of the cover is great, and we're really happy with it. Decathlon also stands by their workmanship -- a year later (around 10/2011), we discovered a small leak after a very strong thunderstorm. I e-mailed Jerry about it, and he had his guys come out to fix it (it was a small repair). No problems now. I've recommended Decathlon to at least two other families considering patio covers for their backyards since getting ours.

They made the whole construction process easy and we are very pleased with the results. Jerry, the owner, came out and we discussed what I wanted and what his thoughts were. His quote was broken down with different upgrade options like bigger posts, staining, electrical, decorative stuff so we could see exactly what we are paying for. Jayson oversaw the construction and he kept us up to date on what was going on and when things would be done. April kept us up to date on the backend stuff like when inspections were going to be done. Everyone there worked together to get the project done.

I really appreciated April Terry being a good communicator. She always informed me of any change to the construction schedule, not the day it was supposed to happen, but well in advance.
Jason (Foreman) and crew were very courteous, friendly and they did a excellent job on the balconey. Jason ensured the little details were taken care of which in turn makes the balcony almost a piece of art!!.
Thanks for the fantastic job Decathlon....Will definately use you again.
