All Pro replaced my roof in February 2017. Overall this has been a very frustrating experience, but I do have a functional roof. I can not recommend their services. To be fair, I expect contractors to pay attention to detail, do what they say they will do, own and rectify any mistakes, and be proactive. The homeowner should not be expected to be an expert, do their own work, nor badger the contractor for fixes and continually take time off of their job to be available at the contractor’s preference. Pros: Competitive price Very favorable reviews from work in prior years under former ownership Good products, good flashing install and good sealant application, even a decent paint job on the tin and lead Fast scheduling Very favorable payment schedule Cons: Several major mistakes, several minor mistakes. The crew must have known that they made mistakes, but did not alert me, nor the office. Limited follow-up, difficulty getting mistakes corrected Little interest in making things right The install itself went smoothly. The foreman did not introduce himself. One guy spoke some english - we discussed where he could park the trailer. No one from the office visited the site during the install. Major mistakes: I confirmed with the city that All Pro did NOT pull a permit to perform the reroof. My city requires permits for >25% reroof, and this was a complete reroof. The crew sealed the furnace vent. The wrong size vent caps were procured, yet the crew attempted to install an oversize cap by pushing it all the way down and securing with a screw through the pipe. This sealed the vent. We found this when the weather turned cold a few days after the install, and woke up to a cold house. Thankfully, the safety checks in our furnace were fully functional. This is an exceptionally dangerous situation, and we have a baby in our house. I am fairly handy, so worked on it that morning, discovered what was wrong, and set about fixing it. The office called when I was trying to diagnose it and offered to come look at it the next day during business hours. I didn’t consider it OK to leave the house cold for at least a day, plus take off more time from work for a chat, then take off more work again for a fix some time down the road. I clearly expressed what was done wrong and sent pictures, but the company never came back to fix the vent. They did show up to collect a check that I left at the house a few days later, but apparently did not take a look at the vent at that time. I was able to do a temporary fix the morning I found the issue. I gave up waiting for them after about a month and did the correct permanent fix myself. To be fair I did not call them repeatedly. The office offered to reimburse me for the materials I had to buy if I could provide a receipt. No consideration was given for my time, the delays, nor the risk presented to my family. Not even an apology. Again, this is an exceptionally dangerous situation and the fact that we had a newborn in the house makes me especially upset. The insurance company funded replacing the covers of my 3 power vents, but not the mechanism. The crew arrived with three vent covers. They removed my power vents entirely and just installed the covers leaving so-called “passive” vents. I didn’t even think to check this for a few weeks. When I told the office, they expressed disbelief and said they would have to come inspect it themselves. So I had to take more time off work so they could get into the attic, glance at the vents and agree it was just as I said. They agreed to install new vents. The office positioned this as doing me a favor, as though it was my fault their crew installed incorrect parts. I found a nail - point side up - coming up through a single. I pointed this out to the office representative when he did finally inspect the roof with me and he said he would pull it and seal the hole when replacing the power vents. This never happened. I fixed it myself. Several (8 to 10) nails in the ridges did not get set correctly. They went in sideways leaving the head protruding at an angle, pushing up the shingle. Some were high enough to cause the shingle to tear. I pointed out one during the inspection but said there were several like that. They pulled that one nail, did not apply any sealant, and did not fix any of the others. Minor mistakes: The water heater vents were disconnected, pushed down, and cemented in place. It’s normal for vents to come apart during a reroof, but I expect them to be reconnected and in the right place before applying sealant. That didn’t happen, so I had to break them apart to re-set the vent elbows. The office spoke at length about how diligent they are about cleanup and picking up nails. I know some nails will always be left behind - it’s the nature of the job - but I picked up over 4 dozen nails around the house and in the street. They use very large nails and one got into a tire of one of my cars, so I had to replace the tire. The office had no interest in this issue, not even an apology. Nails in a street are especially surprising as they are very easy to pick up. When replacing the power vents, the agreement was they would attempt to do the wiring from the outside. If they couldn’t, then they would contact me to schedule time that Friday afternoon to wire them. I did not hear from the company and they did not do the wiring. So I wired it myself that weekend so I wouldn’t have to take more time off of work. The office promised to install improved vent covers and correct the insurance filing for the number of vent stacks and fixtures. None of that happened. The office promised to take down my gutters. This was purely a favor, so no harm, no foul, but still was forgotten. I was planning to take down the gutters before the reroof so they would be picked up by the city on their once-a-month bulk day, and so the drip rail wouldn’t have to be cut around the gutter screws. The office convinced me to leave them up to catch nails and they would take them down and haul off. They didn’t. There were two bundles of ridge shingles left over after the job. I left them on my driveway. They suddenly disappeared the day that the crew came back out to replace the power vents several weeks after the roof was installed. I’m not saying All Pro took them, because I didn’t see who did, but the timing certainly was interesting.. So I ended up with a good roof, but it required me to know what I was looking at, do my own work, and still badger the office to fix the most significant issues. Overall, I’d say All Pro does not respect your time and does not pay attention to details. Every contractor I’ve worked with in the past has worked with me to make things right whenever problems were encountered. Not so with All Pro. For a quick and cheap job that you can competently oversee (and correct) yourself, they’re fine. For a typical homeowner, much of this would have been very difficult.

Went perfectly. We just love Danny, the estimator/overseer. He is a personality and a half. This is the second time we've had them out to do work for us, and in addition to being the cheapest quote out of four, they worked fast and did a beautiful job. They were able to get the whole roof done in one day. Our house looks so great now!

I was happy with him. My husband used them before I got married, and he was happy with them, and his coworkers used him, and they were happy with him. Everybody that had anything to do with him thought he was great. We had a lot of people were coming out to give quotes for hail damage, and he just stood out to me amongst everybody else.

Richard came to do the estimate himself. Was impressed that he used a product, Malarkey, that I had chosen already as my preferred shingle. I added an attic ventilation product that is not used much in Texas and wanted to clear it with Richard before work began, so provided him with their website. He actually called the manufacturer to check out product details. Nice! When weather changed the start date, he called me early that morning and made sure the delivery driver took the materials back to the supply house right away. Any questions/concerns I had got promptly answered and taken care of by Richard and Danny. The billing process went smoothly. They roofers did a great job with site cleanup and were polite and respectful.

They came and did work. However, they did not properly reset and seal the flashing on the gable bottoms. After Danny did the roofing work in May I had to call him back in June. After my personal inspection of the work performed I noticed that the flashing was not properly sealed on the right gable (when facing the house from the street). He did come out a second time in June however, it doesn’t appear that this was fixed. I am not sure what he did but I still have the same issue. (He says he put a clear polyurethane; However it still looks the same to me; like nothing was done there.) The right gable is not sealed; you can still see through to the outside from inside of the roof. I have requested that they properly fix this. I am still waiting. I am requesting that either: a) flashing under the gable vents be nailed down or b) boards be put across that area from the inside of the roof. I prefer option b. This is how it is done on the left gable. In addition to the above, the left gable (when facing the house from the street) needs flashing where the fascia meets with the roof on both sides of the gable; for the right gable only one side of the gable has flashing and the other side needs it. I email the company about this issue. The owner emailed to say that he would personally inspect the work. To my knowledge he hasn't come to look at the work. The office manager called me to assure me that this will be taken care of. However, as of today 7-10-10 this hasn't been taken care of. Danny called me yesterday and was not aware of the issue I had with the lack of flashing on the gables. He was under the impression my concerns only were about the sealing of the gables. I thought this was interesting since I emailed management the day before about this. He says clear polyurethane was put down to seal this area. How was it done? Was it painted on or was some other method used to apply it? I can't tell that it has been done at all. After I mentioned my concerns about the lack of flashing Danny said he didn't understand why this was needed. This comment really raised my eyebrows.
Description of Work: I contracted with them to have the following repairs done: 1. Reset and seal flashing on both sides of house at gable bottoms. 2. Remove, replace and seal shingles over garage at leaking area. 3. Remove antenna and replace shingles at contact to roof 4. Set and seal all roof jacks and heat stacks

Response from All Pro Roofing
The work on this home was completed as described in the contract agreement. The homeowner viewed the work done, paid us in full and requested a quote for additional work. Sometime later (after several heavy rains) she looked in her attic and said she "did not think " the work was done correctly. She made no mention of a leak then or at any time thereafter. She requested we make changes that were unnecessary and not a part of the original agreement. I informed her that I would have Danny come back out to make the changes she requested. Danny set a time to come to her home and do the additional work at no charge. Danny called her when he was on his way to her house and she canceled the appointment. She said she would call to reschedule. She has not called back or returned our calls. AS A COMPANY WE WOULD NOT CONTRACT WITH THIS CUSTOMER TO WORK ON HER HOME AGAIN.

Overall All Pro EARNED an A+ for the work they provided. We had several other roofers competing for the job and decided to go with All Pro after meeting with everyone. They handled everything from the quote to the after work inspection. They showed up when expected. The material were delivered the day before work was to begin. I left for work the following morning shortly after they began and when I got home that evening, the only sign they had been there was an impressive new roof. The entire place had been cleaned up and trash hauled off. One area was pointed out during the inspection of the work. The next morning a crew came out and resolved that issue to our satisfaction and it was a done deal. As a business owner myself, All Pro gained my respect by the way they handled themselves and their customer. They would be my first choice if I ever require work in their field again. They did what they said they would do , they did it right and they did it on time. There were several homes in our neighborhood that were getting the same work done on their roofs by other companies. . The more jobs we looked at afterwards the more we realized just how good of job All Pro did. You could just see the extra quality in our roof
Description of Work: All Pro did a complete roofing job on our house, They pulled off all shingles and felt, replaced several sheets of decking, and cut ridge vents along the peaks, and laid the new roof. They provided all the materials we selected , performed the labor required, disposed of trash from the job, and arranged an inspection of the work completed around our schedule.

After calling for the inspection, a representative checked the house and gave us an estimate before purchasing. All Pro did charge me a $100 inspection fee which would be deducted from the repairs if we chose them as our contractor . After closing, I called All Pro and advised them that I wanted to have the work completed. I really do not know when they came by the house to perform the repair, but after a week or so, I called and spoke with Richard who told me that the work was completed. I was assured a followup call which I did not get. I do not have any major issues with the quality, but it would be nice to leave a note on the door when the repair was done. A few days ago, we did get a call to pay for the repair, so we can assume it was completed by now. Not related to this particular call, we decided to give them another chance and come out to repair a potential rodent entry point. We were assured a call to schedule an estimate within a day or two. After waiting more than 3 days, we will be choosing another roofing company who can communicate with their customers a bit better.

While we were very pleased with the price, and quality of the project, we were disappointed with the lack of supervision of the site crew which caused us to have to heavily monitor the work. The crew showed up at varying times for both days of the project, and wanted to work until 9PM on day 1, something our neighbors didn't appreciate. They politely complied when we asked them to wrap it up by 8PM. They did an excellent job cleaning up after themselves, carefully going over our yard again and again to remove all waste and nails.

Danny inspected roof, contract written to begin work 11/5/2009 or 11/6/2009 pending weather. Weather was fine, waited at home both days, no one showed up or called. Surprised to hear banging on roof 11/9 and went out to see someone? on the roof who hadn't come to my door. Paid for work then told he had to come back with correct size jack but didn't tell me when. Called office for Danny in Jan. because still leaking in window by chimney. Had to call again and Danny finally came out and said it was just small rocks blocking drainage on roof side of chimney. Leaking again .Called Danny and he said he replace shingles this time. Weather was fine until Feb. 11 snow. Worst leak with melting snow. Called Danny Feb. 23 and he said he'd put me on the schedule for Fri. Feb. 25. Why wasn't I on the schedule when I called 3 weeks earlier?? Guess what. Waited around Fri. and no Danny & no phone call. So much for being 'put on the schedule'. Will he show up in March? Will 3rd time actually fix my leaks. Glad I didn't have the $$ to pay for replacing dry wall, wood trim & other water damage because I'd have to pay again if it is ever fixed. Hate to think what's in the walls! I've been leaving towels in the window sills so that I don't come home to wet carpet. Extremely frustrated. After coming to my home five different times, the leaks are finally fixed.

Danny came for an estimate on a rainy day and looked from attic. He had to come back on the next dry day so he could assess from the roof. He gave the estimate right away and scheduled work to be done quickly after the rain was over. It failed to pass the 1st rain (having much smaller leaks). After I called him, he immediately came and got his worker to do further repair. So far, it has passed the next rain. He let me know if there is still leak, call him immediately while it's still raining so he can better identify the source. Very responsible indeed.

Excellent experience. Richard, who owns/runs the company, did all of the estimating/scheduling/inspection himself. He was very helpful and did not try to fast-talk me as did some of the other people who gave me estimates. I got four estimates prior to getting this work done. All-Pro was neither the lowest nor the highest, but Richard gave me the best overall gut feeling about getting the work done right. Also, he included things either at no charge or at a nominal additional charge that, to me, made his the best offer. I ended up getting a radiant barrier, ridge vent, and an impact-resistant roof (which saved me about 30% of my annual insurance premium) for a price comparable to the other estimates (within about 10%). I would highly recommend All-Pro for any roof replacement.

Even though the roofers are rather busy with the storms that have gone through the area the last month or so, All-Pro was very prompt in getting an appointment scheduled to provide an estimate. I got several estimates for the work and they were the lowest. They were able to schedule the job for a week out after agreeing to have them do the job. Job was completed in one day and met my expectations. They did an excellent job of cleaning up and even attached one of my gutters back to the house that had come loose, Overall, very pleased with the job.
