To provide background, we had three estimates done. The first, and most expensive estimate did NOT include the backsplash and would provide only a 60/40 or 50/50 free sink. Their price for the job was 40% higher than what Prestige Granite did for us, and as I said before, did not even include the backsplash! The second estimate provided the one opening deep sink that we wanted, however, they indicated they would need to make 4 cuts in the granite at our breakfast counter as well as at the far end of the kitchen. In addition, in order to get the price they quoted they required us to use their stone for the backsplash which was a 4?X4? solid light beige color stone tile and not to our liking. In addition, they indicated they had to build a shelf behind our sink where there is an extension to the window! Their price was 30% higher than Prestige Granite. Prestige granite did the entire job with only one cut in the granite at the far end of the kitchen. In addition, we were able to select the backsplash of our choice and they provided the one opening deep sink for free. This outfit gave us the best price by far and we got the best proposed job. We found out about this company through friends. Tips for buying Granite -Ask how many and where the cuts in the Granite will be. -Who will be doing the plumbing re-connection -who will seal the granite -how long will it take -how many people will be on the job
Description of Work: We recently had granite and tumble stone back splash installed in our kitchen. The kitchen counter is 93 Sq. Ft and the back splash is 34 Sq Ft. They removed all the old counter-top, back splash, sink, and disconnected the plumbing. The granite, the sink, plus the install of the granite and back splash was $2800. We purchased the back-splash materials (at a big store in Plano at 75 and 15th street, they have a big selection) and a new faucet. The back-splash material was $300, we purchased 40 Sq. Ft. For $60, they re-connected the dishwasher, new faucet and the disposal. They sealed the granite, the back-splash required a few days to set, so we sealed the back-splash a few days later.
