Dukes Tree and Landscape

Dawn Dukes never managed to do the needed work at all. She made and broke several promises over the course of 41 days. She was very, very rude and unhelpful as the issue progressed. I do not recommend working with her or her company. In October 2014, My HOA sent an email suggesting Dukes Tree Service of Rowlett for residents to hire for tree work, and provided Dawn Duke's contact info. On October 16th Dawn responded via text message (several images attached). Summary of exchange: Me on Oct 16th 2014: "A tree branch is coming into contact with the highest part of [address omitted]'s roof, and I want that cut back to avoid roof damage" Dawn on October 16th 2014: "K ty" (12 days pass without a word) Me on October 28th 2014: "Dawn? Can you please tell me what you ended up deciding to do?" Dawn: "The limbs in back are on your roof too they need to be cut back... [bids $350 total]" Me: "$350 for everything? Let's please do it." Dawn: "K" (10 days pass without a word) Me on November 8th 2014: "Do you have a date in mind to complete the work we discussed?" Dawn: "It's already done" Me: (Sending photo of tree still hitting roof) Dawn: "I'll have a look at it Monday" (8 days pass without a word) Dawn on November 18th 2014: "We will be by tomorrow to cut that off the roof." (7 more days pass. Dawn emails me the bill, but still does not do the work!) Me on November 25th: "That tree is *still* on my roof" (sent 2 pictures of tree hitting root) Dawn: "They are 2 separate invoices and needs to be paid.." Dawn never apologized for breaking her word time and again, for the mistake, and for the damage so much time going by did to my house. She also told me to go through the HOA and to stop texting her about the job. I hired Dallas Tree Surgeons for $150 and it was taken care of within 3 days! Fast forwarding to 2018, today Dawn called me several times and texted me but said it was a wrong number. She was argumentative and rude even during the accidental exchange today. I decided to finally post my bad experience so others could avoid hiring her for tree work. I had saved screenshots of the text conversation from 2014 and have posted it here as well. At the time I also let my HOA know of the issues.
