"Thank you for your kind words, [Member Name Removed]! We love those fur babies!"
Not to mention the emails and communications have been less than professional.
Then today I get a rudely worded email that includes, among other "policy changes":
"Yards need to be maintained with grass cut short in order for us to provide the service. It is too difficult to find and collect poop in long grass. If your grass is too long, we cannot provide service. If we visit but find that your grass is just too high, you will still be charged for the visit."
I get that tall grass makes your job harder, and I would understand if the yard wasn't cleaned as thoroughly with the grass being tall. (This is how it was previously handled) I would also understand charging a nominal fee for showing up and noting that you are unable to perform service to cover cost of gas and time driving out. But to show up, declare the grass is too long and charge me anyway... (And they don't have an official definition for what constitutes "too long", so if they decide they want to charge you FULL PRICE for doing NO WORK, there's no recourse for you.)
So essentially if you hire Your Helping Paws, they may decide that your grass is too tall, not even try to service your yard and still charge you anyway. Good luck getting your money back if you contest it because they also require you to pay for a full month of service up front.
When I reached out to point out the logical fallacy in this policy (That it essentially gave them the freedom to claim anyone's yard was too tall to service be able to charge anyone without providing service) I was basically told I could take my business elsewhere.
