Do not spend your time or money here. The first time we went, we got accused (and yelled at) for trying to cut in line to make a purchase when we were trying figure out how to even select our products with the lack of directions and being ignored by staff. Still did not get help until I picked up a palate I found and walked it all the way over to what we needed. Guy apologized profusely, made it right, and we purchased a 1/2 ton of landscape stone, sand, fill stone, and decomposed granite. Assuming that was a fluke, I went back, with my 9 year old daughter in tow, to grab a few large matching landscape stones to complete my project and had THE most bizarre customer experience of my life. They were adamant I had to purchase stones from the few remaining pieces of a palate, stones that were too large or way to small for what I needed. I told them the specific number of stones I needed and what size, and that size happened to be on the top of the new palate right beside the almost empty one. Had one super helpful staff member helping me, apologizing for his coworkers. Had another guy being super confrontational come over multiple times while I picked out the stones from the new palate. Also has his nose hanging out of his mask while he was talking me and had to ask him THREE times to pull that thing over his nose. Finally after raising enough of a stink about being challenged by multiple employees about what stones I was allowed to buy, another guy running the sales register came over, saw what I was being asked to purchase, helped me finish getting the last of my stones, all while my kid was watching, in the heat, sweating her butt off. I will say, that if I was a male, I don’t think I would have been harassed, stood over, and challenged. Told my daughter on the way home sometimes as a female, when you are treated unfairly you just have to stand your ground and not take garbage. Need more black star gravel, but will be trying Round Rock landscape Supply.

Staff were friendly and helpful. They helped us load the flag stones.

This company has a place that you can take your tree limbs, brush and grass clippings to for a small fee. There are not a lot of places that will take the tree limbs in our area.

I actually used the North Austin store, but Angie's List only allows a review of the South Austin store.  I have been there many times for flat limestone pieces, cut limestone bricks, small limestone rocks, and fine limestone screenings.  I find their prices to be good - everyday price is about the same as the apron stores' sale prices.  People are always helpful, whether it's a question or loading up the rock.

My husband and I have been planning some landscaping work for over a month now. In the process we've looked at several stone and rock supply companies to get quotes and look at the selection. Our overall conclusion is that most supply places have the same basic rock, stone, gravel, and mulch, maybe slightly different, but they don't all treat you the same. Whittlesey made us feel comfortable and treated us like actual customers even if we weren't spending thousands of dollars. We really appreciated that. I am quite satisfied by the price that I paid for some granite gravel. We had the gravel delivered and they were at our home within 2 hours. We were able to get to work that day.
I've already been back to buy some stone for stepping stones. Buying the stone was easy. You weigh your vehicle, pick out the stone you want, weigh your vehicle again, and go pay. I was very satisfied and will continue to return as I have a lot more work to do outside within the next few months.

I've used Whittlesey's Rose Mix religiously for the last 2 yrs, everything in my yard grows, it's wonderful.....Additionally, the pricing is very reasonable. I've not used them for any other services, I do know that whenever I go there, they are busy..

Driver arrived about 7:45 on the morning I requested and dumped the topsoil in the location I requested. Gave a "B" on price , because the delivery charge seemed a little high. I live about 5 miles from their location and delivery was $60 plus $6.75 fuel surcharge. My assumption being that the delivery came from that location.

Good price, excellent quality materials, they always called prior to delivery to remind me to ask where to deliver it. They were always on time and delivered it to the right spot even when I wasn't there to watch.

THEY DELIVERED MY 12 YARDS OF SCREENED CHOCOLATE LOAM AND PLACE IT EXACTLY WHERE I WANTED IT. THE DRIVER WAS A PROFESSIONAL, CLEANING OUT THE BACK OF HIS TRUCK, AND THE MATERIAL THEY DELIVERED WAS FANTASTIC. SCREENED CHOCOLATE LOAM WITH VERY SMALL OR NO CLUMPS. mY OVERALL EXPENIENCE WITH WHITTLESEY WAS EXTREMELY STATIS- FACTORY OVER ALL AND I WILL DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN.

Very poor quality product. Large chunks of limestone with very small particles. No medium size stone or binder particles. Lots of debris in product (left over lunch debris, bits of steel and plastic). Try another vendor.
