I've used Sowers in the past, so I was familiar with their performance and reliability. The owner always comes out to do estimates and he is very good at listening to the problems I want to solve and the ideas I have. He is also good at suggestion other solutions that may be smarter in terms of lawn health and/or easier to implement. But, in the end, he knows what I want to end result to be and he delivers.
The crews were on time and professional. They remove all debris and materials and leave a clean area. Although work can sometimes be rescheduled, they never appear to be dragging their feet or stalling. And, they hold true to their estimates, which is a big mark of integrity, in my opinion.

Contracted them to remove weeds from my backyard and to treat for ants and mow. They rescheduled more than once and mowed over the weeds instead of removing them. They also gave me bad information about the length of effectiveness of their ant treatment. They even mowed over a flower bed. When contacted to address this they were unprofessional and basically said oops not much we can do. It wasn't until I posted a bad Yelp review that they sent me an email stating they would not charge me and complained they had a new girl n the office. Really, blaming the new girl instead of apologizing. Sorry I moved on to a different company. Oddly enough the new company without prompting mention Sower's less than seller reputation. The conversation was about ant control and they brought up the name, not me.

"We are very sorry that Member had an unsatisfactory experience with Sowers Lawn Care last year. At the time, we had just hired a new office employee and unfortunately, there was a great deal of miscommunication that happened. I personally had a phone conversation with the member where she voiced her concerns, and while I was very apologetic regarding our mistakes, there was not a way for me to physically fix the weeds that had already been mowed over. Immediately after the phone conversation I sat and reviewed the account and (prior to any knowledge of an online review), I discounted her services. I did send the member the above referenced additional e-mail after reading her online review, but contrary to the above, I apologized profusely for our mistakes, asked her forgiveness, and not only offered to charge nothing for our services but also to replace some plants that she said were damaged. Regarding our Ant Control service, we do use a commercial grade product designed to work for one full year, and we offer to spot treat any mounds that may recur at no additional charge for the entire year. This is the first I have heard from this particular customer about any dissatisfaction with the ant control program. We certainly do not want for any customer to feel like they received less than excellent service for Sowers Lawn Care, and while we make mistakes just like anyone, we try our best to rectify any situation that may arise. We again apologize to the member, and wish her the best."

They're very good. They're consistent, reliable and compared with other providers offer good value for the money. Prices are probably 10% below the standard market. I continue to use them.
