I called Round Rock Gardens to see if they would plant a 12 ft. Oak tree even though I hadn't purchased it from them. They agreed, were prompt, and did an excellent job. This was two years ago and the tree has thrived and grown much more than expected. They were thorough to do everything for the successful growth of the tree in a difficult landscaping area (there were lots of rock, and poor drainage problems). Because they are a local business I also find them to be excellent at having the plants needed for successful xeriscape gardening and meeting the needs of finding the "popular" plants as well. They may be a little higher than the "big" retailers, but good service makes the difference.

I ordered the work in the beginning of February, 2006. I called and stopped by several times, each time being told "next week". By the time they were ready to order my plants, May 4, it was already hot. I gave them a check for $2959.04....1/2 of the total...Seemed extremely expensive by California standards! No hardscaping was involved. The planting was done about May 19 in the middle of the day. No watering in was done, and almost all the plants died within the first 3 weeks. Round Rock Gardens refused to honor their warranty, blaming the death of all plants on my watering. (I have a sprinkler system). I never would have guessed that I would be cheated by a business in my own neighborhood! Beware! Another landscape company which I hired to give me new landscaping gave me larger plants at half the price. Their plants did not die. I also have a statement from them saying that previous work and plants were defective and that I had been taken advantage of.

Being new to this area and this climate, we really had no idea what we should be planting or how to care for many of the plants we bought. Round Rock Gardens was very helpful and gave us lots of tips and told us things to watch for. Also told us to call or stop by if we had any problems or questions. They were very friendly and knowledgeable.
