"We actually contracted with your neighbor for the shared fence. You were upset that your neighbor who builds fences wasn't allowed to build this fence for you and the surrounding neighbors and chose to nit pick the entire project, causing delays, be very demeaning to the crew as they were called several things that's very unprofessional by you, not taking the time to share the concerns with the owner who could take care of the concerns with the crew still on site responding with "I will voice my concerns with online reviews". We responded to all emails, showed up for a meeting called by you requesting the owner to come before the crew showed up, I did but neither your nor your neighbors were present or answered the door. I walked the fence line to compare to your email list of concerns and I responded to it onsite. I'm confused of what more we could have done for you to be satisfied with our communication, responsiveness, quality and punctuality."
"You noted the work was done 8/1/17. You are extremely off on your timing. This work was done in 2013....over 4 years ago. This is the first I've heard of this issue. I've received absolutely no calls, emails or website visits from you. I have no problem with reviews but this is a very unfair and misleading review. We've never had a chance to respond to an issue. But now that you chosen this route, your fence warranty expired. We can't control acts of God and natural products in a natural setting. There many reasons a gate can have issues (non-use, over-use, drought, no watering schedule to keep the soil moist near the gate posts, kids, pets, heavy equipment and much more). I would have loved to hear from you directly and probably would have addressed a legitimate issue within a reasonable amount of time like we do always when customers take the time to communicate and offer honest communication."
"Thank you very much for taking the time to share yours and other residents kind words about our guys and our company. We always try hard to offer the best service, quality and price. We appreciate all of you in the community as you made it easy for us to do our job"
"We met and completed the wall thru as planned. You did request that we remove the posts and cement and I did fail to inform the crew because it's not the best fence installation nor is it the normal way we build fences and I apologized for that the day we met. We left the number of panels that you requested and was requested to return to pick up the one you chose not to keep that would have been hauled away as part of the original scope of work. In summary, you did request several items that are outside the "regular" scope of fence building and we did all of them except the post situation and the panel you chose not to keep. We will take note of this to be sure all requests are met/performed for all future customers"
"I've searched our invoice system and I have no customers by your name. Please verify you have the correct company"
Bottom line: 1st - their work was wonderful, excellent quality of material and build, quick respond time to bid and book, very responsible crews who did things right without having to be babysat by me. Everything looks plumb, follows our property line well, has nice level cuts. Their price was not the rock bottom cheapest of everyone, even when I went over things and made sure it was all apples to apples, but we got close enough that we are just talking a difference that was not large enough to deter me because even though I am price conscious I am very quality conscious. I wanted to go with PP because they automatically spec'd the best quality material choices for a longer lasting fence build, and a better looking one. I had to nag the other bidders into correcting their cheaper seeming initial bids into including the better materials and adjusting the price. One of the other bidders seemed to have never used screws before on any previous jobs, which was an alarm bell for me. The stain guys did an excellent job, and quickly with no mess.
If you want to make sure you get people to bid a good quality fence from the get go, here is what I learned:
-Screws not nails: spec you want them to use coated screws, not nails (screws hold better, the coating is to not rust and streak), spec Grade 2 Western Red Cedar pickets (rot and insect resistant wood, not too many wood knots, no actual knot holes)(we used 6" wide instead of 4", we thought that would look better and hopefully be more sturdy),
-Metal Posts: Pflugerville uses these wonderful galvanized metal posts (instead of the standard round ones with caps on top and fasteners to the rails) that are the best trick up their sleeve: A squared "U" shaped post that drive deep into the ground, the rails attach into them up and down the length, and then the front of the post gets hidden with a cedar fascia picket so your fence looks great when done, no tacky galvanized exposed posts on the "ugly side". These posts also have a higher wind withstanding rating.
-Cedar Rails not pressure treated pine, and 3 rails not just 2: We used 3 cedar horizontal rails for the pickets to attach to so there should be minimal shifting and warping, the cedar will weather better than the cheaper treated pine option and is not that ugly greenish wood clashing against the reddish cedar rails.
-Staining the fence: And a couple of companies will not even stain the fence as an optional service. It adds cost, but looks great, and will make this thing last much longer than if we had not. Make sure everyone is bidding that they will set their posts to a certain minimal depth for soil versus hitting rock. And check what each companies warranty is. If you wait to have another paint crew do it later, chances are you will talk yourself out if it. Our one neighbor was going to hire a separate crew, still has not gotten around to getting that done. Our other neighbor was going to save money by doing it themselves, still has not done it.
Okay! Apologies, I know it is a lot to read, but if this helps anyone else out, great. I felt like I had to take a crash course in Fence 101 to figure out what we wanted to do, and thought I'd pass along the knowledge before I quite happily forget it!

"Thanks for the review [Member name removed]. I would have liked to have had this information at a date closer to completion a year ago. I see that you do rate the quality an A and the rest around average. We have taken that into consideration for training purposes and correction of errors for current and future customers. Your project was a very detailed project, I do recall with a special design and countless cuts of every piece of lumber installed. The amount of time to install your fence was not a standard fence install timeframe due to the special details required with the 5' pickets, 1' of lattice and all requiring cuts and trim. Thanks for you feedback"
Great job!
"We really appreciate your business. Thanks for the review and we hope you're loving the new Pfence at the rental property!"
"Thank you for taking the time to review us and giving our small family business your support. It was great working for you and your neighbors"
