i live out of state and have a rental in texas. noah's ark was referred to me.
i called the number given to me which is the same as what shows on angie's list. the recording stated, "user is not accepting calls at this time". seemed strange for somebody running a business, but numbers can change. i sent a message through angie's list instead.
the next day i received a response through angie's list telling me to send email to their company's address because they don't get their messages promptly through angie's list. i thought this was odd, because i am always notified within minutes of receiving a message through angie's list. they also asked for my phone number, which i gave them.
next my phone showed a text message had been received. WARNING TO ALL COMPANIES: NOT EVERYBODY PAYS TO HAVE A TEXT PLAN!!! if we have a phone, you should call. if somebody says, "please call me", you should call, not text. texting is passive aggressive, especially when you mess up and don't want to have to explain yourself. once i discovered somebody sent a text message, i had to pay to read the message. VERY annoying. when you enter ten digits in your phone, why would you then enter a bunch of characters, to which you will not immediately receive a response, when you can so easily speak to somebody? man up and talk to people, for crying out loud!
i called back and spoke with gary. he "thought" he'd have time to look at the work i needed to have done, but told me to send my email address to his email address so that he could respond. he also asked for the address where the work was to be performed. i did that later that day, as soon as i was at my computer.
then i waited. no response via email; no response via phone. nothing. if any information was missing from what i sent, which gary thought he needed, he should have contacted me, but neither he nor his wife did that.
today they said they don't have time to do my repairs prior to my tenants moving into the house. well THAT is pretty darned inconvenient! his wife, after telling me they didn't receive the information they needed from me, THEN went through their email account, found the email with the information i had sent, and responded to it for the first time.
they insisted gary sent email to me last week, but i have nothing from them and have asked for a copy, in the event i missed something.
we shall see.
in the mean time, if you want to work with a company that actually cares about doing business with you, or doing business properly at all, i would recommend you move on.
"None of this information is true or accurate. There will be a response to these false allegations very soon"
"Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication with the contract. Noah's Ark has always required a down payment of 1/2 the total cost of the job to cover payroll and materials if the job is not one that can be completed within one week. The cost of the job was increased due to a change in the layout of the bathroom tiles and the tile size that would have forced us to cut each and every tile down to the correct size and lay the tiles at an angle which takes more time (thus more labor cost). The delays in starting the project were in fact our fault as we had many delays on a current project; although, there was a push back on the start date at the customers request at one point. We do take full responsiblity for not making the payment terms very clear from the beginning of our proposal and apologize for the lack of communication."
"Thank you so much for the work and the great review. We apprecaite your business! God Bless Kara Kirby"
