Noah's Ark refused to honor their bid price; created last-minute contract requirements that had no basis in reality, and failed to deliver what we had agreed to in writing. Based on our recent experience this firm is unreliable, dishonest and most certainly not one I would ever recommend.
"Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication with the contract. Noah's Ark has always required a down payment of 1/2 the total cost of the job to cover payroll and materials if the job is not one that can be completed within one week. The cost of the job was increased due to a change in the layout of the bathroom tiles and the tile size that would have forced us to cut each and every tile down to the correct size and lay the tiles at an angle which takes more time (thus more labor cost). The delays in starting the project were in fact our fault as we had many delays on a current project; although, there was a push back on the start date at the customers request at one point. We do take full responsiblity for not making the payment terms very clear from the beginning of our proposal and apologize for the lack of communication."
"Thank you so much for the work and the great review. We apprecaite your business! God Bless Kara Kirby"

For this job, Noah?s Ark decided that it would be best to install all the new wood first and then stain and seal in place with the promise of special care and cleanliness when it came to the staining and sealing. Therefore, on day 1 of the job we finalized the contract grabbed all the materials and the carpentry crew went to work demo?ing all the old wood and installing the new. It was very obvious early on; they knew what they were doing and strived to do a quality job. With that said, the overall carpentry work was great and warrants an A rating. There were several door issues that popped up, in which they dealt with quickly by applying creative solutions. Once the carpentry work was near complete, the staining/painting guys came in
to complete the drywall crack repairs. In short, they did a good job repairing and texturing some rather large cracks and deserve a B rating.
The major issues arose when the staining and sealing took place. First, the quality of the stain/seal work was very poor and would warrant an F rating. Every board and door has areas with runs and/or globs of stain and/or sealer. There was instances where they forgot to wipe the stain before it dries, and plenty of areas where not stained at all before sealing. Also, no effort was made to minimize the appearance of defects in the doors, nor keep them free of large debris when staining and sealing them. Secondly, little care was taken towards protecting the house while staining and sealing, therefore just about everything needed some level of attempted cleaning/recovery, which included but was not limited to carpet, tile, walls, windows, counter-tops, sinks, door hardware, etc?.Needless to say, some items would just not come clean. The foreman of the job was notified several times, but there just seemed to be a flat out refusal, by the painters, to utilize tape, tarps, and paper. A final item of note here, once the carpentry work was completed; there was little management of the project from the foreman or owner.
In summary, I would recommend Noah?s Ark for interior carpentry work (A). As for any painting, staining, or sealing I would be
cautious and consider another company for the finish work. The job had such high potential to come out wonderful, but turned into a lot of extra work and headaches for us as we continue to repair, touch-up, and clean.
The team that performed the work was very courteous and professional. They left the place clean and did the work it takes to minimize dust and debris in the rest of the house during a remodel like this. The construction went well and was done with care to make sure it was done right and would last. You would think the new room was part of the house from the day it was built if you had not seen the house before. That was my biggest concern and after all was done we were all very pleased with the results. The texture and paint professional, Juan, took his time and made sure everything was right. It was obvious that he cared about the kind of work he was doing and it showed. We will be calling Noah?s Ark again when we have other painting projects.
There was a delay in getting the project done, mostly due to a special order on the door we needed in order to match the rest of the house. The door had to be made for the project and shipped, so it delayed the installation and completion by some days. This did not alter the quoted price, however, and as this is my house and I plan on being here for a long time, I wanted it done right and not just quickly. I value quality over speed in that regard. Overall I was very happy with the end result and am thankful I now have a go-to person for projects like this in the future. It takes a lot of the stress out of a project when you have someone you know and trust to do it right.
