The project was supposed to take a week, it took more than 2 weeks. The project was supposed to start upstairs in the bathrooms first and work it's way downstairs since I was staying in the house during the repairs. The workers worked on items out of order so I was left without a bathroom and place to sleep at times. The house was very dirty and it took a long time to clean it up each night. After they were "done", I made a long punch list of items that were incomplete and/or done poorly. The owner himself came finish the work but still there were little items that were left undone or subpar. I believe that this job was rushed and therefore done poorly.
They also went above budget which was a sore topic especially is the work was subpar.

On a scale of 1-10 I would say I would give them an 8. They did a pretty good job when they first started and I had a number of things that needed to be done. The two owners came out and were doing the work and they did a great job. As time progressed they hired somebody to come and do a lot of it and he didn’t do such a good job. It took longer for the work to get done and it wasn’t done that well and I had to keep going behind him and tell him what I wanted. I wasn’t just pleased with his work. There was quite a bit of work. They put the base board and the trim around the windows. They also built a screened porch that extends between my house and my garage which included a low brick wall along one side. The pricing was good. They were really great to begin with and the two owners were fabulous. If they continue to come and do the work in my house I would hire them at this instant but they have got big enough to need assistance, then not so much. I might consider using them again if in the agreement it was mentioned that one of the two would be here doing the work or directly supervising the work.

I highly would not recommend JB Handyman Company. I don’t think they are in business anymore. Their partners split ways half way through our job. They never finished our job. We also had problems with warranty issues. I finally tracked down one of the partners at his home in the evening and asked them to take care of it. Eventually he did but it was only because of my own persistence that the job was finished. They had some fairly decent contractors in their team so the work turned out to be okay. However the problem was that the plumbing was installed incorrectly. I think that it should have been supervised by JB Handyman Company. They failed to do that and that’s what job was done incorrectly. The contractors did correct the work in the end. However, it would not have happened if I hadn’t followed up so rigorously. The final product looks fine but it was the process getting there that was inexcusable. We had them to commit to come in the morning but we didn’t see him for next three days. That’s clearly unacceptable. I think they were little bit overpriced too. I would not use them in the future.
Response from JB Handyman
"I am the owner of JB Handyman and would like to include my take on the situation. First off we did a complete tearout and remodel of the bathroom which was a lead that came from a well known plumbing company which we had no ties with except for paying them so the homeowner would only have to deal with on company. Well if turned out the custom shower with divertor was plumbed incorrectly not allowing the handheld to work properly. The plumbing company did the inspection on it and we did the tile work after there test. Once we finished the project and yeah I admit the tile job and the guy that did it could have been a little more responsive so I didnt look bad when I told the owner he will be here at this time a never show was a fault on mine but I wasnt going to hire someone else to finish since the guy that works for us does great tile and its done right and not only that but didnt want to bring someone into their home that I didn't know that long. As far as the plumbing issue we came back and fixed the plumbers mistake after making calls to the company and waiting their response on how they were going to handle this situation. Well after weeks of no response the homeowner tried getting into contact with my ex Partner and after numerous promises to come and get it handle The homeowner came to my personal residence and I agreed to come and fix the issue and make sure he was satisfied and it took about a week as I have had other projects booked and needed to reschedule so I could get this matter handled. I understand his discouragement and that is why I took the matter into my own hands and made it right. This bathroom with removal of wallpaper and complete paint with trim and doors along with customer stand up shower with drying area along with glass block and no door entry cost total with labor and materials along with the $2000.00 plumbers bill bid was $11500.00 this is for reference on the over cost the homeowner said was to expensive. I hope this helps out with anyone that second guesses JB Handyman as we have great reviews on the web,"

Most recently they installed new interior doors on a closet and did two sets of cabinets. I purchased the parts, they installed them. They did a great job!

Main sewer line for home built in 1970 (Asbestos/Concrete i.e. Orangeburg) was collapsed. Outdoor Chores promptly met commitments and corrected one of the underlying problems behind the collapse of the sewer line (by replacing root-supporting organic back fill with sand to discourage nearby root growth). The other underlying problem was technology and age, simply put. On top of how impressive the speed of the job was, the cleanup (which included hand-raking lawn areas adjacent to trench) exceeded my expectations.
