I tried to get a new kitchen from Ikea and it was a complete nightmare. I had to change my in house kitchen measurement date because I was out of town and I think they just tried to make it as miserable as possible so I would just give up and not try and recoup my measurement fee. I had to call the store multiple times and was told they were unable to change the date so they referred me to the third party contractor who does the measurement but they couldn't help me and referred me back to ikea. At this time Ikea was able to reschedule my appt only to find out later that after I asked multiple times to verify the date and was assured it was set for July 20th they again screwed up and it was set for June 20th. Now I'm in the process of trying to get a refund and it's turning out to be a more painful experience than the scheduling issue because I am out of town.

The quality of the product and price were outstanding.

Ikea is great. I have a towel that I bought 8 years ago and it looks brand new even though I use it every day.

We used IKEA a lot during a large remodeling project. Their prices were the best of the best. We worked particularly with the employees in the kitchen area and they were very helpful. After checking out, employees helped us load the boxes onto our trailer. The cabinets are boxed flat; it took us only about ten minutes per cabinet to put them together. There was a problem with one of the cabinets and I could not put it together. I called the kitchen department and left a message. They called me back within twenty minutes and walked me through the whole process. It was wonderful. We did have to take a few items back but they were very good about finding replacements. A word of advice: inspect the boxes for damage right there in the store or be willing to come back to the store. You have to be the quality control. WARNING: Ikea has a 90-day exchange policy; if you do not discover and exchange a defective item, with the original receipt, within that timeframe, they will not exchange it. Be sure you will be putting your items together within that window of time.
