HIP HOUNDS

There was no separation of dogs by temperament or size plus no toys for their entertainment or beds for them to lay on in the play area where they spend all day. The dogs stay in wire kennels overnight with no access to the bathroom. The website and location if you visit it are complete opposites. The website looks very inviting and friendly but when visiting the facility it is an industrial building where the employees are just watching the animals. You are paying for doggy jail at this service. I have visited multiple kennels over a week and use a company where the animals are loved. They are allowed to play outside with other dog all day long for free and are treated as family by the employees. I was looking for a new company due to prices going up but after my experience I would rather pay the higher price then take my animal to HIP Hounds.

I have not used the boarding services, but the daycare service has been great for my 2 dogs. The dogs are tired when they come home and the staff are very friendly. We will continue to use them.

I have boarded my 2 dogs at Hip Hounds for 3 years, this stay was the longest yet at 6 days. In the past I was very happy with Hip Hounds but now I'm not sure we'll be back. It seems that neither of my dogs ate while during their stay. The bag of food I brought with them was returned to me practically full but none of the staff mentioned this. One of my dogs also came home with sores on her paws. The dogs had been bathed while at Hip Hounds so the staff should have noticed these sores but again nothing was mentioned. In the past Hip Hounds has been very good about making sure all dogs were up to date on their vaccinations but I'm not sure they're monitoring it closely anymore. In addition to not eating and the sores on the paws my dog came home with mucus running down her face appears to be kennel cough. Now after paying for 6 nights of boarding I'll be paying more for vet bills. What a disappointment.

I boarded my dog for 4 nights while I went out to visit some relatives in California. I dropped off my dog for a day of 'daycare evaluation' (at no charge) the week before to see if there were any issues with the other dogs, staff or the facilities. At that time I also took a tour of the place which was extremely clean and spacious. There's a large indoor play area (important in this current heat wave) as well as an outdoor area and an online webcam which enables me to see what's occurring from just about anywhere I can get web access. The friendly staff is extremely professional and you can easily see that they genuinely care for the animals. Bath and nail trimming are available options that I didn't use. They had a coupon for two free nights of boarding for a first time customer so 4 nights was the cost of two ($33 a night for a total of $66 on the way out). All in all a great resource that I will use again.

A super place to board our dog. We switched from a closer place in town because they had limited room for our dog to run and play. Hip Hounds has lots of space plus a play philosophy for the dogs that matches the one in a kennel back in California that we used extensively; it works as well here as it did there. Our dog was happy to go for 10 days after this test day so we knew he did not have a bad experience with other dogs or with the staff. He was also very healthy when he came home, no problems with diarrhea or weight loss that can occur with a long stay. And the staff was incredibly friendly to us, showing great people as well as dog skills!

i love Hip Hounds! they took such good care of my wonderful dogs. they have a webcam so you can check on your dogs, and they worked with my dogs little eccentricities and thunderstorm phobias. all three dogs came home happy and healthy. i'll happily use them again.

i have used this company many times in the past and will use them again in the near future. we left our dog with them over christmas and they gave us a great picture of her with a bow on her collar. she always comes home clean and happy because pups get bathed after 3 or 4 nights, i can't remember which at this time. i would like it if they gave a discount for leaving the dog there for several nights. the current rate is $33/night. it would be super cool if they could do something like $30/night for stays 5 days and longer because anytime we use them, it's when we're going to be gone for a long period of time. they do offer discounts for doggy day care, but apparently not for overnight stays.

My dog LOVES to go to doggy day care here. He runs to the door to go and then runs right in when we get there. The staff is GREAT and very loving to the animals. My dog is my four-legged "child" and I have to be extremely comfortable with his care. He loves to play inside and outside. As an only "child", going to Hip Hounds helps socialize him and gives him some doggy friends. He is also a very active dog so the play helps keep him happy and healthy. I buy the discounted pass so he can go on a regular basis. He has also boarded here and was very well cared for. They understand and love pets here!

I'm a big baby when it comes to my dog and had never boarded him before so I was more than a little nervous about leaving him for several days. I was thrilled with the care he received at Hip Hounds and I loved their webcams for checking in on him throughout my vacation. The cameras were down a few times but worked most of the time. He had so much fun! He slept for a full day when I picked him up and, he was a bit overweight when I dropped him off and seems to have slimmed down a little bit. My favorite thing was the fun reindeer photo I got of my dog when I picked him up. I would happily and comfortably use Hip Hounds again. Right now they have a coupon on their website for 2 boarding nights or 3 playdates free for new customers.

Hip Hounds loves animals and it shows. It is plain to see with their interaction with the pets they are not just in it for the money but really love their job. There is always an adult present with the dogs and they have playtime, nap time and even have a pool. It is a wonderful place and my dog loves it there.

The people there are very loving. This is a cage free place. They are also staffed 24 hours. I chose them for this service because I had used them in the past and was happy with how they cared for my dogs then. This visit was a lot cheaper than normal because they were running a special.
