GREEN OAKS BUILDING & REMODELING

This guy is the worst of contractor nightmares I have come across.   He apparently never intended to meet the timeframe he was given.  He delayed, asked for more money, let the job sit unfinished and when we finally agreed on an amount to get him off the job and out of our lives the replacement contractor and structural engineer came in.  $3000 in rebar was missing, 75% of the poured concrete walls were not plumb, some as much as 2 inches.  Jeff took the concrete up to high to tie in a ceiling so we had to pay $1800 to c**** out concrete.  Completely incompetent is how the engineer and replacement quad lock contractor described him.

Jeff Cunningham (proprietor of Green Oaks) gave us a timely estimate, which was almost $2000 lower than the price quoted by a major deck company in the Austin area, in part because of Jeff's choice of 2x6 boards, which enabled him to do the job without incurring the expense of adding joists. Jeff started and finished the job promptly. In fact, he did it while I was away for a long weekend, so I requested a few finishing touches when I returned. These were items that I requested, not work that Jeff had failed to do. Jeff took care of the finishing touches as soon as weather allowed. We were plagued by rainy spells this spring. I am very pleased by the overall result: the smoothness and solidity of the deck and the pleasing effect of the finishing touches, which were well executed.

It couldn't have been better. It was just him and his son. The work was done exactly the way I wanted it, and they stained it perfectly. It took them about two and half months to do all the work. I was satisfied with that time frame. It stood up the to the weather perfectly. It still looks like new. They were trustworthy, cordial and friendly.
