We had SO much trouble getting anyone out before we called him. Animal control doesn't help. Other people want monthly contracts for a year and very high fees before they even look. We called one place and they never called back. The whole time the snake just lived in our garage as it had for who knows how long. Jerry came out and we found it hiding very well! RIGHT BY THE DOOR TO THE HOUSE where all our legs had been at some point!
Anyway he caught it and helped us set some traps for mice since that is likely what brought the snake. He let us have a look at it and sent us some pictures of our snake too!
Very friendly and nice person.
All in all very satisfied. He came out when he was scheduled to and did what it seems like no one else was willing to... just catch the snake.
I've lived around here a long time and am used to them being around (wear good boots when you hike) but I didn't want anyone to risk getting a bite as they are nasty and can leave you disfigured at best. So I figured I'd rather get a pro out to handle it. Worth every penny.
It's a lot cheaper than the hospital would be!
"This client was a pleasure to work with. She's a smart, observant lady who was frustrated that nobody else would respond to her requests for help. We get calls for snakes regularly, and we consider such calls true emergencies once it is clear the snake involved is either venomous or the caller cannot be sure if it is or not. Sometimes it is difficult to make that determination, but not this time. The rattlesnake we removed from her garage measured 22 inches long, with six rattles, and had fangs more than half an inch in length. Snake tongs were used to capture it once found, and to lower it into a snake container for transport away from her home. After the capture we next analyzed the reasons behind the snake's invasion of her garage. She mentioned that a mouse problem had existed in the recent past and may yet be an issue. Within her yard were a few places where rodents could be harbored. We recommended specific habitat modifications to reduce that possibility, and placed several child-and-pet-resistant rodent stations outside, around her home's perimeter, to prevent future rodent infestations like the one that attracted the rattlesnake to her home in the first place (part of the fee for our service covered the new rodent stations we placed in her yard). We then suggested she read through our article on snake exclusion (http://bugsinthenews.info/?p=1034), which contains added reference materials she may want to refer to from time to time. Hopefully this is the last rattlesnake she will have to deal with."
