As stated above, our beloved dog eventually needed to be euthanized. However, that is not the reason for my review. My dog seemed to be treated OK during the approximately 42 hours he was there, However, I was treated poorly; i.e., kept in the dark. Let me explain: When I brought my dog to the emergency hospital, they immediately took him in the back without even asking me what was wrong with him. After filling out paper work, I was put into a small room where I waited for over a half hour before anyone came to see me, When an emergency vet finally did show up he asked me, "why are you here". My vet was supposed to have faxed all the records to them but was told that they never received the records. Our Vet's office said the records were faxed there, the emergency room vet said the records were never received. I wondered since they hadn't gotten the records why did they wait so long to ask me why I brought him in". That was never answered. Nevertheless, I immediately called our vet's office and asked for the records to be sent over again. After briefly explaining to the emergency vet why our vet sent us to the emergency hospital, he disappeared. No one (not a vet, nor Tech, nor...) let me know they finally received the records. And FINALLY after waiting in the small room for about 45 minutes the emergency vet finally showed up and told me they received the records and that my dog was gravely ill - primarily severe breathing problems and he needed to be put in an oxygen cage. I was stunned because my dog had a chest x-ray less than 24 hours earlier and his radiograph (according to our vet) showed his lung were fine. Since our vet had mentioned that they had accidentally over-hydrated our dog, I asked if it could possibly be pulmonary edema that was causing the breathing problems. My questions was arrogantly ignored, and I was told that it was probably pneumonia. In Summary: I am not a vet so I cannot speak to the level of care my dog got from the emergency hospital or specialty vets, they "seemed" competent. As stated above I am writing this review because they constantly kept me in the dark as to what was going on. Our dog was more than just a "dog", he was family and I am still very angry for being continuously kept in the dark on the night I brought him in. Oh, but there was one thing they were constantly wanting to talk to me about! No, not my dog's health! BUT about the potential bill. Once I was even chased down a hallway when I left in somewhat of a daze very upset about the deteriorating health of my wonderful dog. This place gave every impression that it was far more concerned, and diligent, about money than they did about caring for they patients (dogs) and their owners.

We asked for help with a stray dog we'd found along a 70 mph highway (the dog crossed and was trying to re-cross). The vet tech at the desk all but accused us of stealing the dog we were trying to help. We have brought our animals to this clinic in the past, but never again after this accusatory treatment.

Our little Buckie, a Basset hound with a chronic medical condition and a very complex medical history, became obviously ill over a weekend. We took him in and the doctor treated him and us with the utmost compassion and respect. He took extra time to learn about Buckie and his medical issues, and he provided treatment options. We are so thankful that Emergency Pet Care was available to help him. I strongly recommend this clinic and would use them again without hesitation if the need arose.

Friday night I took our family dog into the Emergency Pet Care of Round Rock. Mercedes answered the phone and answered many of my questions and was a wonderful introduction to the facility. Upon arrival we checked in and Dr. Bennet took over the care of our dog. Every step was fully explained, with care and love, and if a procedure was suggested or recommended, the price was disclosed up front. Although we could not save our pup, the professionalism of the staff, and the beautiful facility was helpful.
I highly recommend this place for after hour emergencies.
