Appliance Repair
$250
I have a GE dishwasher that would not drain. I called appliance express and they came out and diagnosed the problem as a bad drain pump and regular pump. Since the dishwasher was new 2008 I called GE. Appliance express was going to be $500 for parts. I got the parts that I needed from GE at no cost. Since I had already paid the $98 dollar service charge I called Appliance express back and they said they would install the parts but no warranty on parts or labor. I agreed and they came back and replaced the parts. They charged me an additional $150. Since I had granite counter tops I had to have someone come out and reattach the dishwasher. After the repair it drained one time and then would not drain. Since Appliance express is not a GE certified repair I called GE again, They sent another tech out at no charge and he said it was a drain hose, GE sent the part and when the third tech came out he found a rubber stopper that had lodged in the drain valve and had come loose from the dish rack. I called appliance express just to let them know what the problem was and that it was misdiagnosed the first time. They told me they would look in to an adjustment but to date I have heard nothing. I am just glad I did not have to purchase parts and that GE stood by their appliance.

Tom Davidson repaired an older washing machine at a rental property. Other repair persons I called said not to bother and just buy a new one. I have also called him about other appliances and he has given me advice over the phone that I have tried before he came out. He was very good at diagnosing and anticipating what would need to be done and what it might cost so I could decide to have him come out or just go buy a new appliance. Very honest and knowledgeable. Other friends who own rental properties referred me to him and have used him for years.

Mr Davidson was prompt, very competent, and courteous. He went the extra step to take the time to test the dryer timer motor, which he discovered defective. Mr. Davidson impressed us with his ability and knowledge of the appliance industry. His card says he has 30 years of appliance repair experience in Austin. He seems to demonstrate that with his approach. He also works for the apartment and other investor clients, servicing appliances in rental properties. His reputation seems to be in quick and timely service, understanding the value of time in getting appliances operating again.
