You get what you pay for with these guys. I went through an extensive bidding process a little over two years ago (it's amazing what different companies will charge for the same product LOL) and ultimately chose AFR in May 2022. I was ecstatic that they had a crew that would be available and ready two days after I accepted their bid. They showed up on time and got straight to work. The initial work looked great, and the "owner" at the time, Juan, even came by to address the areas I was dissatisfied with (poor alignment, etc.) before the job was 100% done. I should have been more persistent about the staining job though post-construction b/c the guy wasn't quite thorough enough. By Christmas, construction flaws had already begun to rear their ugly heads. Gate construction ended up being total s***. Poor spacing and inadequate hardware resulted in one of the gates not working properly within just 6 months. It then took MONTHS to get a response from AFR, but they finally came out to "fix" the problem gate. That repair was again total s***, and I had to hound them again to come out and fix their fix. By this time, the second gate also began failing. They finally came out shortly before Christmas to address both gates. The initial bad gate received its third round of construction and seems to be doing well, but I've got a sneaky suspicion it's already begun to weaken. The second gate that received its first repair the same day is now worse than when the guy came to fix it. SMH. The gate cannot even close b/c the hardware has completely stripped the wood and is hanging out. I have to prop the gate with heavy stones to keep in place and prevent from completely ripping off the post. On top of the gate issues, time has revealed that the guys who did the initial construction rushed the board-on-board part and had insufficient spacing in several spots b/c I can now see through my fence in multiple spots when the whole point of doing board-on-board is so that does not happen!! I sent them an email two weeks ago about it and have yet to hear back. I even forwarded that email back to them again yesterday morning. Crickets. So be mindful. While their pricing was the best, the quality of work was very disappointing.

Scheduled for estimate. Guy came by and did measurements. Called two days later to schedule fence installation. They guy Case asked me to take a picture of the estimate which I did. He texted back said ok I got. Be out early next week. I stated that I needed it done on a specific date. He gave me the thumbs up emoji. Week later I texted to confirm that date. I got a yes text. Come that day. No one showed up. I texted no reply for 30 minutes. I called at 11:00 am he answered and said that they were on their way. At 3:00 pm still no show. I called the main office and cancelled. No one tried to talk me out of it. Or try to remedy the problem.

Hired to install custom cable rail fence in a new construction patio. Installer was highly skilled - highly recommended especially for complex/custom jobs. Juan - the manager - was easy to deal with and helpful.

Upgraded to metal fence poles for strength and to reduce fence profile, 2-3 were installed upside down and I was told not to worry about it. Had gates installed on both sides of the yard which is great, they used wood from the old fence on one side. Only secured the street facing pickets in two spots. I'll have to go back and add braces on 4 poles. Multiple pickets are not secured to crossbeams. Neighbors dogs are able to stick head through fence due to lack of nails. Left half of back of fence is crooked. I have pictures of all of this but Angi doesn't allow upload of pics here, I'll add them if I figure out how. Feel free to contact me. It really stinks, the people who showed up to do the work were super nice and helpful, but if I saw pictures of how the fence turned out I'd have passed, especially with the price of lumber these days.

The work was completed as promised. It was completed sooner than promised. The work was good. Good job.

Our fence was built 6 months ago. They did a pretty good job with install. However, we have had an unusable gate into our backyard since install. They came out once, did a shoddy repair, and the door now sags and won't latch. I've sent pictures, videos, multiple text messages and phone calls. I either get no response, or promises that they'll get back to me. Casey is the one I have been "communicating" with. DO NOT use this company. They can not be bothered to abide by their warranty policy (1 year warranty - "all work done by the FINEST contractors in Texas". They can not be bothered to communicate with their customers.

I *STRONGLY* recommend not using these guys. They installed my 3-rail fence over a year ago. In the process they spilled concrete on my driveway, installed the wrong hardware on my gates and left a bunch of welds unpainted. I made the mistake of paying them in good faith with the promise from Casey that they would fix the remaining items promptly and clean up their mess. A year+ later I have called and texted hundreds of times. On those rare occasions when Casey responds he always promises to fix and then ghosts me If I had it to do over again I would neve use ProTex.

It went very well and it was exactly what we wanted.

I don't usually give bad reviews especially if it is local businesses but, I have to say something about this company. I paid $600 for this poor quality job. I am pretty sure I overpaid by at least $250 but, I trusted and paid them. When I got back from Business trip and saw this, I was speechless. just for the reference they installed it on 2/10/21 I called them after the weather condition we had about a week later and I had reschedule again because of rain. They told me they will come out on 3/3/21 11am to fix the fence properly. they didn't come and called multiple time then they said they will come out at 5pm and they didn't come again. I had to waste my PTO to the guys who cannot be trust. any one who is willing to use this company, be aware.

ProTex was awesome. They were quick to respond with their bid. They were efficient, professional and paid attention to all the details. They checked my satisfaction with the work throughout each phase of the project and completed a thorough clean up after the work. I highly recommend this company.

The fence is great. The lock on one gate was uneven. Even after it was adjusted. the goor itself was uneven and would not close in wet weather.

They did a fine job on replacing a span of wood fence and a gate, as well as staining them, and I was happy with the results. Within the warranty period the gate would no longer close - that happens sometimes if the ground moves, and I don't blame the company for that. We contacted them about this and they said they would come out and fix it but they never did, even when we reminded them multiple times, so after weeks of waiting, we finally hired someone else to fix the gate.

Fixed my problem in two minutes. Courteous, called when headed out to my residence, on time. Despite Rudy’s spending time and gas to come out, he did not charge me as repair turned out to be simple.

I've been through 3 fences, all nightmares. Rudy and his team got our new fence built with quality and precision. He always answered my calls and eased my concerns.

Great. I was impressed by owner Casey's clear discussion of needed work, of materials, and of price. Everything was done well, with two small problems, which Casey described as "quick fixes" and which he handled himself. I'd recommend Protex ffully and cheerfully.

They are so important that they can't bother to to answer their phone and can't bother to clear their answering machine So that customers like me can leave my information

The company was very unprofessional and didn’t finish the job properly. Many aspects of the fence were not done properly or done incorrectly and ProTex didn’t want to fix there mistakes or honor there warranty. Have tried several times to call and text them and no response. Gate post are exposed when they should of been concealed and were actually mounted upside down or improperly. Fence crew had no oversight during installation on fence and made many mistakes that didn’t want to make right.

Casey contacted me immediately upon submitting a request. The estimate process was easy and the price was fair. The team of workers were very polite and worked hard to get my fence up. They even helped by trimming trees as needed and ensuring the sprinkler lines would not be disturbed. The fence & gate looks great. I couldn't be happier and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for their service.

We were given an estimate of about 10-15 days out and he was able to accommodate our project in about 4 days. He completed the 250' worth of 7' fencing very quickly and made any changes needed to accommodate the landscaping. He by far had the best pricing out of four other estimates. We would definitely use their service again.

This went exceptionally well from start to finish. Casey quoted me an excellent price, Jose built an excellent fence, and everything was fast and as promised.
