One Hour Air

You know who you don't want to p*** off? A tired mom who hasn't got any sleep or air condition in six weeks during a heat wave after failed services from this business. Rockwall one hour air has been out to my home 5 times in the last six weeks. During this time I've paid for parts and labor for an issue that was never resolved. On the last visit, Josh came out to my house. He pointed out a leak in our attic that had been overlooked by our previous technicians on their previous visits. He apologized and told me that that service fee would be waived for the trouble. After days of waiting around with no response during a heat wave I called. They told me that I owed a service fee of $90 for that visit which the technician had already told me would be forgiven as we have been annual members with this company for over three years in my new home. During this time I've been up-charged for parts, and been billed for services/parts that never addressed my issue. Their manager told me that they would not come back out to my house to fix the problem unless I paid yet another service fee. During this conversation, I was hung up on, and all of my calls from my husband and I have been ignored. If you're reading this, please save yourself the headache.

The process from initial consultation to install day was seamless. Took about a day to install the system, and we've been enjoying the cool air ever since. We feel the price was fair and the service was professional.

The team at one hour air is our go to service for all of our HVAC issues. They are the only people that we use. There are on time, courteous, professional and get the job done. I highly recommend.

The tech that come out of my house was a carny crook. My AC wasn't working and he told me that the blower motor in my furnace was out - cost $1600. And, that to replace the blower motor I would also have to replace the control board even though nothing was wrong with it because the blower motor and control board were configured to work together at the factory and you couldn't get the blower motor to work without getting its associated control board - cost $1000. Total of $2600 to fix and prices were guesstimates, they could be more due to the age of my system. He then proceeds to tell me that my best option is just to replace my furnace since it was 16 years old - cost $3800. He gave me a third option to replace both AC and furnace but he said that I didn't really need to replace the AC at that time. Based on his advice I took the 2nd option and had them install a new furnace. After 4 tries they couldn't still couldn't get it to cool my house (btw: they were demanding more money to 'fix the problem', even though they couldn't tell me what was wrong) so I called another company who sent out a tech and said 1) the AC would have to be upgraded to work with the new furnace - they were never going to work well together - cost $6000. And, equally, if not more important 2) there is NO configuring of the blower motor and control board at the factory so that they specifically work together; assuming that the the blower motor was actually broken it could have been replaced without the purchase of the control board. Any AC tech would have known both of these things. I will never know if the blower motor was actually broken, but assuming that it was and I had had correct facts I would have spent $1600 not $9800 ($3800 for furnace and $6000 for AC). DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE.

These are the ones who installed my HVAC system. They did the basic tune-up fine, I guess, but I specifically told them before they came that I needed a HEPA grade filter. They said over the phone that they would bring one. They did not have one when they came. They then told me that there is not a branded filter that fits the unit I have that is HEPA grade but they would look for an alternative that might fit. I have called twice over several weeks to inquire. No follow up has been made. I am done with them. I may need to have a different unit installed that allows for a HEPA filter, but they should have gotten back to me over a month ago with that answer if that is truly the only option.

Was quoted $60 for a trip charge and then $90 to clean the flame sensor which took less than 5 minutes! I thought ok it was after hours but still ridiculous! Tech waived charges so that I would purchase a maintenance agreement for $159. He charged $199 to come back out and replace the flame sensor which would have cost $234 had I not had the agreement. This was for a part that cost less than $15 and took him less than 15 minutes to replace. Tech very knowledgeable, courteous, punctual and professional! Prices are outrageous!!

They were able to diagnose and fix my problem promptly. The owner and tech that came out were professional and friendly. My complaint is the pricing. They charge $75 a pound for 410a freon. And about $250 an hour for labor. You could save hundreds by calling a few other places and asking about this before deciding who to service your unit. Mine needed 8 pounds, which is $600 here. About 3 hours to install the evap coil, $750. The coil was under warranty. Shop around.

We worked through our home insurance plan. Parts had to be ordered and there was a delay of several days. I was waiting for them to call back and I had to end up calling them. When I called it seemed like they forgot to call me. The work was done well and the people were nice about everything. Just could have been done more timely.
