On May 15, 2017, I received a certified mail demand letter and lien threat from Spec Building Materials in the amount of $7,969.25. I contacted Clay Cleveland via e-mail 7 times to resolve this and to date, almost 5-months later, Clevelands has made a partial payment of $1,515.93. This leaves a balance of $6,453.32 for materials supplied to my home that I paid for in full on April 6, 2017. I have been in contact with Spec Building Materials on a regular basis to maintain my credit rating. We paid Clevelands Roofing $24,748.31 in full on April 6, 2017 and they have not paid their material supplier in full for the materials used.
Description of Work: We experienced hail damage and needed a new roof installed. We filed a roofing claim with Farmers Insurance and hired Clevelands Roofing to do the work. Farmers issued us a check for $11,278.18 to start the work which was immediately given to Clevelands on 3/10/17. Per Farmers Insurance, this check was cashed. I wrote Clevelands a personal check for $2,800.00 on 3/27/17 for upgraded shingles, which they cashed on 3-28-17. I wrote them a personal check for the balance owed when the work was completed, $10,670.13, on 4-6-17, which was cashed on 4-6-17.
