Alvarado Hardwood Floors

Conducting business under various names Carlos Alvarado, Luis Alvarado, LC Hardwood floors. Initially, flooring was installed beautifully. 1850 sq feet of nail down hardwood flooring. However, within 6 months we noticed that a few boards were raising up in different areas of our home and the entire floor began cupping. We called Carlos, whom we have known for over 8 years to come inspect the floor. He was genuinely shocked and had no explanation. Carlos and his family has been installing floors for 20+ years. We did our research, called various sources trying to understand why our floor was cupping and why the edges of some of the boards were literally standing up on end. Assured Hardwood Flooring Inspector Dick Schumann helped us verify why our floors were damaged. LC Hardwood Floor aka Carlos Alvarado did not allow the floors to acclimate prior to sealing the floors. No moisture readings were ever taken by the Alvarados, which is a critical step in wood flooring. Additionally, we learned that in many areas, the individual boards were not nailed evenly, which coupled with trapped moisture caused the of the boards raise up where a person could actually trip on them, or snag their foot on the rough edge. After sharing the report with Mr Alvarado and having him actually see the damages, he agreed to help pay to have our floors sanded and repaired. Eventually, he backed out of every agreement. We decided after attempting to pursue a judgement in small claims for damages and expenses totaling $8000.00 ++ , to drop the case and simply share our experience.

The quality has regressed, while his prices have increased.

The work is generally fair. Wood are not even in several area and noise when stepped on. Major color touch-ups are found in several places, which is not expected with new installation.

They were very easy to work with.  They were punctual.  They did an awesome job.  I think for the money we pay, we get a great value.  I just really liked them.  They've always been real professional.  The outsource that they bring with them have always been professional.

On time, very professional.  Prices are reasonable.  Workmanship is excellent.  Finished the job when it was supposed to be done.
