Horribly. He gave a story of being legally blind nearly dying but survived against all odds. He talks a good talk. His mom drives him. His business, as he decribed it, was a well oganized crew of young men for going under deck and older mature men to direct and ensure work is done correctly.A group of men ready to work....not so! 1.5 k given cash. I had just had surgery day before and obviously not thinking well. Plus under stress from an unsympathetic boss...so felt pressured to get what I thought was a potentially dangerous situation as it looked as if my deck and pergola was leaning to one side. I feared the pergola would shift and fall. I thought the work and price for his assessment was very high but I thought he and crew were going to lift pull boards rebuild and level...as he stated. He bragged on his crew. And he promised good work.. Red flag ...late ...promise 0800 instead 3 hours late. I heard noise they cut a small square out of the deck floor, claimed replaced rotted wood....never saw evidence. He gave a years warranty on repair. I even gave him by mistake a check on a closed account....he checked before cashing it. I was thankful to him and his mom and dog for telling,..saving me from fees etc. I ran into bank gave cash no receipt. Just happy the repair was done and I felt safe for my family and pets. No chance of the pergola coming down.And the deck shifting down was corrected. Well, I noticed a few months later, shifting. I called. He returned the call and promised to come by.....no show I called again...excuses the men he hire are not reliable but he would come himself...no show...finally he says he is in Corpus area trying to get a job, men are not reliable blah blah,phone connection was poor....,..promise to come back....no show... I texted and pleaded with him. He would reply...but more lies and no show. Oh yea guess what the year is gone. Please do not hire him. He talks a good game....he knows his stuff....scam and conning for sure. His phone number is under his mom's name....Patricia Alva. He called me first. I went with the first guy. AFTERALL, Angles list...how would you go wrong. Oh yea he mentioned how he kept a great clean record with Angles list. He bragged on quality, integrity and fair pricing. I should have gone with other estimates...but was pressed to get back to work...and my boss was not support of me staying off long. I explained this to him. Do not get me wrong....nice very nice guy.
