KINSEL & CO

Two (2) new electrically powered Swingers were installed on our canal dock in the summer of 2007.  We rarely used the lifts, just during summer vacation for about 4-6 weeks.  But when we did use them, the Swingers and waverunners fell in the water after less than 10 uses, so really we never even used them for 4-6 weeks per year.  Kinsel & Co. attempted to fix them approximately 2 tor 3 times each for mechanical and electrical failures.  The final straw was when one Swinger fell in with someone by the waverunner hitting the person and throwing them into the canal and damaging the waverunner in August 2010, .  It easily could have been a fatality.  That event got Marcus's attention for a while.  He talked about coming up with a new design, sent a couple sketches, but never followed through.  This inaction went on for over six months.  I made multiple trips to meet with him in Rockport and the meetings went well.  But then there was never any actions.  Finally he stopped responding, and with the summer of 2011 approaching, I paid another contractor for an entirely new dock with a draw bridge to replace the Swingers, or risk missing another summer of the use of our dock and waverunners.  The Kinsel & Co installation was poorly engineered based on comments from other professional contractors.  The other contractors who quoted the new installation questioned the fundamental installation design. Swinger lifts can work, just not the way Marcus Dominquez and Kinsel and Co. designed and installed it.
