They give good service, but I think their prices are outrageous. I feel like they try to get you to come in for one thing, and you end up walking out with a bill for $300. They keep added stuff once you get there. I feel like they add you up to a higher price once you get there. They keep finding things. I feel like every time I am there I leave paying $300-$400. I don't like that at all. 

Their expertise is good. I just feel like I get taken advantage of every time I walk in. You make an appointment and go in. I do always wait. They get you back fairly quickly, but then you sit in the room and wait. 

I will go back to them in the future. I'm just going to have to start telling them no to extra's. You care about your animal, and I want to be alert to taking care of her properly. I grew up with dogs, and I wasn't consistently running to the vet with them like they do now.

Front desk was all about the bill. Bad experience.

I arrived and found that the staff weren't overwhelmingly pleasant or welcoming. I understand that business and staff are busy and can be sidetracked with customers and paperwork, so this wasn't really an issue for me. I was there for a couple reasons... One of my pups is kind of sickly and viscous and has bit me a couple of times and I wanted to talk to the doctor and ask questions regarding this pup and also have my other pup examined who has had a cough and was who I actually brought to Roanoke that day. I was trying to explain to the technician why I was there and the concerns I had, and she was extremely unkind and came across very rigid and was dismissing a lot of my concerns like I was taking up too much of her time. She made me feel uncomfortable and stupid for expressing my concerns as I was talking to her about my other pup that had a bad temperament. The doctor finally came in and I told him my experience that I had with the technician and how upset I was about it. I stated that her behavior was really bitchy and was told not to curse at her staff. I explained that I was not calling names, but just describing her attitude towards me. I have had X-rays done and have spent a lot of money at this point. I started to cry and the Doctor did nothing to console me and said nothing to me and acted as though I wasn't even in the room. I retrieved my puppy, paid my dues and left. I haven't heard from them since. I am very hurt and upset that not one person has contacted me to ask about my dogs, follow up or anything. It was the worst customer service I've ever experienced at a Veterinarian clinic.

They're extremely high-priced. They make you go twice a year to their deal for checkups instead of once a year. We pay $200 and we have two dogs twice a year. It's a little much. It's a pain to get there and back twice a year whereas everybody else goes once a year. If you do twice a year, it seemed like it would be a reduced rate. We just felt like it was unnecessary since no one else does it that way. They're up-to-date in all their shots. There's a really long wait time there too. We can't complain about their work.

I've been with them for about 7 years now. They are all great veterinarians.

and he and his staff a Roanoke Veterinary are the best.

I dont think they did very well. I needed a phone call or in the least call my emergency numbers. My friends would have came and got them or in the least stopped by and checked things out. I dont think they wanted someone to come by because I believe someone did something to him. They acted really funny when we came in. So just be careful when leaving your pets there.

Check in was fast - no waiting. Doctors take their time and you do not feel rushed to ask questions. The only think that has been a little odd of me is they take your dog to the back to weight and administer shots, etc. Not that big of a deal, though. They won't give you a prescription to order your meds from 1800PetMeds, etc. but they will call in the info to a local pharmacy if you can get the meds there cheaper.

I really liked her right away. You can tell by her actions and attitude that she really likes animals and really cares about their well being.

Whatever the shot is, it is really working. The staff is very friendly. The veterinarians are very good about taking their time explaining procedures, and what is going on with the pet, the causes and how to avoid it happening again. They are always very thorough and very kind with the dog. They are really good. We have got veterinarians here a lot closer, but we drive a good 20-30 minutes to go there.

My puppy was imported from Germany. This puppy was barely 11 weeks when I took him to Shepherd. Shepherd would NOT treat him for his second set of puppy shots until he was given a RABIES vaccinnation. I refused to vaccinate him this early - there was NO NEED whatsoever as this puppy had NOT been out of my site for 10 weeks or more!!!! DR SHEPHERD would not and HE ABSOLUTELY REFUSED TO GIVE THE PUPPY HIS PARVO AND DISTEMPER WITHOUT HIS RABIES. DR Shepherd was RUDE, POMPOUS and downright STUPID about vaccinations. I wouldn't recommend anyone seeing this vet. He needs to brush up on multiple vaccinations and the way they are administered/side effects of mulsiple vaccinations AT ONE TIME. My son was with me on this visit - he too said Shepherd was extremely Rude and Arrogant. Go to Creekside on Davis - where they do NOT think they are the Animal Police - they will listen to your concerns or go to a holistic vet - anyone but David Shepherd.

Taken to a room quickly. They do their best to get you checked out, but the area at the front desk is so close to the front door that its hard not to have to climb over other customers and their pets,

I love this vet!

hubby dropped cat off in the morning on way to work; within a few hours, I rec'd a call saying they were done and I could pick her up anytime before 6pm. The office was a little crowded and busy right before closing but that's to be expected since everyone is picking up their animals after a days work. I advise going mid-afternoon for pickups to get in and out more quickly. Kitty's new do was just what I asked for, and we were very happy with their grooming services.

The people there are all very friendly and are definitely animal lovers. I have been to other veterinarians and the care my pet receives at Roanoke is much better. They have moved a longer distance from us but I will still go to them.
