Gemini Bathroom Remodeling

Raul started on the day he said he would be here. At first, he seemed extremely helpful and honest. Sharing family photos and stories with us and giving us advise on home projects. Each day we were satisfied with his progress. A few days in I came to check on the project and he had put the tile on in a completely different way than we had originally advised him too. The pattern he choose looked nice, but it was extremely discouraging that we were not advised or even asked about this change before he did it. We had purchased pebbles to be used as the shower floor prior to hiring Raul and when installing it he called to let us know that the pebbles would not work for this purpose, their shape would not allow them to drain properly. So mid way through we had to purchase new shower floor tiles. We were thankful for his help in this area. Due to him only working a few hours a day (est 10am-3pm) the project took a day longer than he originally quoted. On the last day everything appeared to look great and we were very pleased with his work. Our real challenges occurred after the job was completed and he had been paid. We have had several issues arise since he completed his work. The tub knob he placed on now does not work properly (due to not being put on correctly) and when we contacted him by phone to address the issue he provided one suggestion to fix the problem, than said we would need to call a plumber (not him) to have it corrected. Our next area of concern is that the shower drain was simply placed on top of the tile, instead of being flush with the tile - an industry standard. In addition, in several areas the grout looks very sloppy. Instead of having smooth even grout lines, the grout appears just piled up. Several weeks ago we sent an email addressing these concerns in detail, including pictures, and have yet to hear a response.
