I am updating my previous review for Precision Pools. Once I started with the warranty department (Norma) I finally got the help needed to get the pool working correctly! Norma was wonderful and she was able to get all of my issues addressed. The pool is now working correctly. Took off one star for the struggle. Thank you, Norma!

The pool is fine. The subcontractors used did all the work and did a nice job. Precision Pools and Spas, however are lacking in their communication skills and they don’t do what they say they will do. They left open trenches following electrical work. The superintndent promised to take care of it. Never done so we did it ourselves. The last time we saw him was Apr. 10th when he added chemicals and started the pump. He scheduled to come back the next Saturday (Apr. 17th) to give us "Pool School" but he never showed up and did not answer our messages regarding when he would be here. We have heard nothing since. There are lots of pool companies and they all use the same subcontractors, WE can not recommend this company.

Well, where to start? Maybe I should start off by saying this is the second pool installed by Precision for our family and we have had two completely different encounters. The first pool held true to the timeline despite Hurricane Harvey. Now, this second pool is far from even remotely being acceptable from a customer service perspective, timeline, and a pure communication perspective. We are very understanding people but expect communication and when we asked Precision for some update and better communication, nothing happened and we felt like we were just told lies and more lies to placate and pacify us. The COVID situation has completly changed our world, this we understand, but communication and customer service do not stop. We started this process in June of 2020 after coming back from overseas and purchasing our new home and our current process is described below. June 22nd, 2020- signed contract July 22nd - HOA approval Oct 19th - Excavation completed Oct 29th - Rebar installed Nov 15th - plumbing installed to shoot gunite Nov 19th - email stating we are 8th in line for gunite Nov 29th - email to Precision about the process, communication, and caving in of back yard into the pool Nov 29th - Call from Tracy - explanations of gunite being the delay and weather, said that we would have gunite by Christmas and that Project Manager would be to the house to inspect.  Nov 30th - The Project Manager shows up at the house and lets Brandi know they will have to excavate again to fix the pool walls and caved in portions January 4th, 2021 - installation of the sump pump due to rains, outlet piping too short and causes water to backflow into pool and flood neighbors yards January 6th - new sump pump installed and drained pool January 19th - request for an update on pool and timeline to complete pool Here we are, going on 7 months in the process, and 3 months with a hole in our back yard that poses a danger to our dogs, children, and anyone else who is at our house. We have consistently been told one thing and nothing materializes, heard that we would have gunite by Christmas, even were told that because we were returning customers we would be a priority, ALL LIES. Again, COVID and weather have played a huge role in this epic debacle but never in our wildest dreams did we ever expect to be treated this way especially when paying over 40K for a pool. Our suggestion is to find someone else to install and create your pool dreams. DO NOT use Precision.

So where do I begin with the big disappointment I have endured with Precision. Signed contract in May and they dug May 23rd and we are still in the process of the pool being completed. We were promised 6-8 weeks depending on weather. On average we have contractors out here ONCE a week a few hours at a time.. When you call for scheduling details you are left with very little info or "we'll call you back". No superintendent has EVER been to the house to check on work of their contractors. Only time we have seen one is to pick up a check and they have spent a total of 30 seconds at our home. The subcontractors. they have brought the wrong coping good thing, I was home to notice the error! Our table inside the pool was completely done with poor craftmanship and took THREE different attempts before it was correct. That alone was a FOUR week process, and nothing else was worked on the pool because they said they needed more money to step foward. My thoughts I need the screw ups corrected beforehand. Our fence has been compromised with concrete and damage. They have powerwashed it and it's better than what it looked like from the damage but not how it was before. My stain looks like crap and lots of wood is damaged. They subcontract workers who leave dirt , feeces, and other trash in my yard that myself or my wife has had to pick. We have cameras in our backyard and it caught someone taking a **** in a bucket. I have been in contact with Micheal the general manager who we signed the contract with our concerns Multiple times and for our inconvenience he was gonna upgrade our plaster if we would write a awesome review before the pool is completed! Huh? Come to find out its NOT and upgrade it the same price as the original plaster we chose. So makes me wonder are all the reviews from an "upgraded plaster?"He can sell ice to a Eskimo. Great sales man thats about it. After months of frustration and disappointment with the terrible customer service we contacted the owner and still have gotten nowhere. Week 13 and still waiting to see if my pool will be finished and my property damage will be fixed? Do yourself a favor and skip the disappointment and go with another pool company. These people are a joke.

It is going well, they accommodated to my builder's schedule. Normally, they finish all together. Pool equipment and plaster will be done when we are moved in at our request.

The end product from Precision Pools is excellent, and they've been very helpful/responsive with warranty requests since the pool was installed. However, I will say the installation process did not go entirely smooth. I was constantly having to reach out to the Project Supervisor to discuss the status of the work and the upcoming schedule. At certain points I felt that I should be paying myself to act as the General Contract because that's how it felt. Fortunately, my background is in commercial real estate so I was comfortable acting in this manner, I can't imagine how someone less experienced would handle this type of situation. They require constant follow-up. The end product is outstanding, so if you're comfortable with constantly following up with them then it's worth it.

It has been horrible.  It started on the dig date.  We were not told ahead of time that the dig would be occurring that day, nor were we communicated to about other important dates where a draw is due.  We only heard from 'the supervisor' when he wanted money after the work had started.  We had to call and basically beg for them to keep going with the job from one phase to the next.  There is zero project management from them.  Them saying it takes 45 business days in the contract was a joke.  It takes them longer and the lack of respect their contractors/employees have for your property is disgusting.  We had to have our deck redone and our downspouts are just hideous.  They did not even try to find a collar for the downspout that fits our gutters.   The rock wall was done very lazy.  They did not drill holes in the rocks and put the water pipes underground, instead they have the pipes that feed the rock wall coming up behind it so from the back of our pool you see some lovely white pipes going into the wall.  Our last pool had a rock wall as well and they put the water pipes under the rocks so you did not see them.  We assumed this was the way this one would be done, but once again we got an unwelcome surprise.
Right now we have a month old pool that has a piece of crap main drain and cleaner line that they say IS working.  We have had pools before and having a main drain that does not pull ANYTHING into it is a joke.  So the main drain does not work and the cleaner line does not work....so we have a pool we paid over 50K for that really does not work and has no way outside of the manual vacuuming that we are doing to keep clean.
So I guess in your contract you need to specify you want a REAL DRAIN that works and a line for the cleaner that works and a decent deck and downspouts that FIT your gutters.  Oh and don't forget to specify that you do not want their employees using the bathroom in your yard.  Do not even think about using this business.  We are so sorry that we did use them.

This was the worst experience imaginable from the time the contract was signed. They dug a hole and installed wire and let it sit. It sat so long that the rain came and the walls began to wash in. I would never use this company again.

We fully REGRET choosing Precision Pools. This is the WORST company in terms of any kind of communication. The online schedule has bogus dates that aren't accurate. Repeated emails and voicemails to the scheduler and GM are not responded to. Several members of the Precision team are rude and are not customer-focused. Items listed in our contract were not completed, and then it's a nightmare trying to get the $$ credited back to us. Our pool was excavated May 9, and we still do not have plaster completed. The ONLY reason we chose Precision Pools was the price, and we wish we had paid the $10k more to go with another pool company. I do not wish this process on anyone. I have zero confidence that our pool will be completed (and running correctly) by September.

Precision Pools has a very unusual way of doing business. Their product is good to excellent but their level of customer care and responsiveness to calls during construction is abysmal. By all appearances it seems to be part of the corporate culture as the problem radiates from the office to field staff. Worse yet, when the field staff do show up, they demonstrate a degree of incompetence that boggled my mind.

Our pool is beautiful but I would never, under any circumstance, hire them again. There are too many pool companies in Houston that do a good job.

This is to summarize our the first phase of the process.
We wanted to build a pool in our backyard and had zero knowledge about the process.
I scheduled 6 companies to visit and offer bids.
We were not able to find reviews initially about this company compared to Premier or Anthony and Sylva or all the others. However, their agent was the best at all levels: Marc Vadagna from Precision pool is the main reason we opted to go with this small and local company. He was extremely professional and knowledgeble about rules and regulations of the city of Bellaire (and believe me, these are many). He personally never build a pool in Bellaire (his company did), but he made sure he searched and studied all the restrictions before coming in to the appointment. He took meticulous measurements himself and drafted the pool plan the way we wanted it. The price was comparable to the others despite the few extra options we requested from him. He shared his opinion with us when it comes to specific recommendations and items, but never imposed his ideas on us ( many other salesmen did). He knows his stuff very well: from city regulations, to pipe size, to pump power, to pavers style, etc.....
The pool plan that we agreed on was drafted in details with pricing details listed in the contract. There is not even a downpayment till digging starts. The plan is uploaded by the company on a website where you can track progress daily...This is very helpful.
We are starting the next phase this week. I will share my experience as the plan progress.

I would give this company a "C" at best. Here's the story in short form: This was a simple job; a small, rectangular pool with a water feature and concrete coping. The job took over 4 months from start to finish. Admittedly, had some early electrical problems and lot of rain. Also, I worked out of town all week, so I really relied on them to keep me posted. They would tell me that XYZ work would be done; I'd come home and it looked no different than when I left; the communication was very inconsistent. In one instance they moved the water feature without telling me. The biggest frustration was the quality of the finish work. The coping was to be square concrete; they said it would be no problem. The first time the subs put it on backwards. I was the one who discovered it and they had to rip it out. The second time it was uneven. I had them leave it as I was sick of dealing them. They're project management and "Pool School" were a joke.

Precision was on schedule. I was hesitant about getting a pool but I am the main one who uses it now. There were a few weather hold ups throughout the process. They were very understanding and eager to please and they fixed any thing that I did not like.

Not good. Estimator was good and sold us on Precision. Actual work was performed by various subs, which was not made clear when we signed the deal. Many subs didn't speak English, left trash on site, did not show up when expected, required homeowner supervision. Rarely was Precision on site, requiring us to call and report problems; often little/no response unless multiple calls were made. A newly installed (by contractor unrelated to pool project) sliding glass door was shattered. I paid out of pocket to replace and final pool bill was credited at project's end. I have called Precision 3-4 times since completion to repair patio and adjust pool equipment. 20% of brick pool coping had to be replaced. Currently have leaks from water feature when on (Precision says this is normal, nothing can be done.) Called again about 12', 3 and 1 cracks developing on patio walkway by the pool.

Overall experience was just great. My sales person, Suzy, was awesome and explained everything. I had other pool companies give me estimates, and although the quotes were very close, I just felt Suzy explained things more clearly and I had no surprises. Work was done on time (taking into consideration one rainy week we had!), and I and my family are enjoying the privacy of our own pool!

They were very professional. It only took them about six weeks to build the pool. They just finished it a month ago, and stand by their work. They pay very close attention to details, and will come out to fix any problem that occurs with the pool. They were very courteous, and polite. They turned my plain yard into a beautiful sight. I get compliments all the time, and I enjoy the pool very much.

Precision Pools and Spas comes out and takes care of my yard every week. They also take care of the upkeep of my pool. The yard looks great. They never leave a mess, and they also do a good job with the edging. I am thankful that my pool is always clean, and runs great, so I don't need to worry about it at all.
