We hired Harris to do our inspection because of his background as a structural PE. We agreed to pay an outrageously high rate for the inspection because we expected to receive a detailed structural engineer's report in addition to the standard home inspection report. What we got was an average inspection (didn't use latest technology like thermal imaging, etc) with a detailed report, but no analysis of the foundation whatsoever beyond "the floors are uneven in places, additional investigation is needed." Well no kidding, we obviously already knew that, that's why we hired him! In the end, we paid more than double the market rate for a standard home inspection, and still had no more information (or even speculation) about why the floors were uneven.
