They did a good job at a decent price.

They were professional and I liked their work. They came out and redid my roof in a matter of hours. The quality was fine and there were no leaks.

Ameristar Roofing and Restoration, LLC have a good crew of about 7 or 8 people who come out. The head guy who runs it is the crew boss, and comes out one or two times a day. They are very good at cleaning up after themselves, and did a nice job with that. They damaged one of my gutters and they've sent a guy over to repair it immediately at their cost. At the time I was travelling around quite a bit so I was hard to get hold of, but they followed up on everything and stayed in touch. They let you know what they were doing. They submitted all the paperwork that had to go to the homeowners' association so I didn't have to do that. They were very professional and very helpful, and did all the ancillary work with the forms. They showed up when they said they would and worked until it was almost dark, and then came back the next day.

After being approved for a full roof replacement by insurance company, we wanted an estimate from Ameristar. Ameristar came out, looked at roof and placed tarps on areas that were exposed due to loss of shingles. They then called me and informed me that they already placed tarps and would let me know about an estimate. Ameristar never came to me with a written estimate. After weeks of back and forth they finally called with a verbal estimate over the phone and provided little to no information on their products/warranties/etc. All of these things gave us a bad taste so we decided to get a second opinion. The next company came out gave a thorough estimate w/ brochures on all the products they would be using and an abundance of information regarding our roof replacement. After checking BBB ratings and thinking about how Ameristar was really lacking we decided to go with the second company. We immediately called ameristar to inform them of our decision out of respect. The salesman at Ameristar was extremely rude and unprofessional immediately. He called several times over the next few days harassing my husband and I about going with the other company. We then received a call from the "owner", Rueben Stafford, who was equally rude and disrespectful. He said that we would receive a bill for $375 which would cover the time it took them to do the "free estimate" and the tarps that we never gave approval for. I will never use or recommend Ameristar to anyone I know after this situation. This company should be ashamed of its behavior and take a course in proper customer service.

They would promise you the moon. They did the work. The guy that came and inspected my roof to give me the quote came back three or four times before he gave me a quote. Then he gave me a quote and one slope of my roof did not meet the slope standard for wind code to use the material he was quoting me. They came and put the roof on using the incorrect material on this one slope. I had to fight with them for about six months to get them to fix it so that it would meet wind code. They wanted me to pay for the brand new materials that they had to rip off that slope and replace. They expected me to go back to my insurance company to recoup that money when it was their mistake. I was not happy with them. Ultimately I got what I wanted, but it wasn't worth the fight. The quality of their work was fine. They seemed very professional upfront. The guy who came and recruited me as a customer was very impressive. The information that he provided was very impressive. None of the people who actually did the work spoke English and so communicating with them was a problem. When I had a problem and went back to the salesman, he had been transferred to Ohio. So I had to deal with the guy in Houston who didn't know anything about the whole situation. He was not really very accommodating.
