Selling home, buyers requested we repair an area that was damaged. David and his great crew came out on a Saturday morning to repair and did a great job. We will be calling David again!

David and his crew did an amazing job on new hardwood flooring for our house! We were told by another person that we would have to strip and restain the wood floor that we already had to match new flooring that was to be installed in 3 rooms and several hallways. David said that wasn't necessary and perfectly matched the stain from the old floor to the new floor. That saved us a lot of work with moving furniture and saved a lot of time and money too! He and his crew were always on time, professional and were always up front with what work they were going to do for the day and how long it would take. The project was finished exactly when he said that it would be done. Honest and Professional! I would highly recommend David for any wood flooring project!

Owner is emotionally unstable and walked off the job after issues were pointed out. His workers said that happens frequently. Issues included gaps between planks and damage to stone entry that abutted the wood floor. The main issue was severe cupping noticed weeks later. Owner said moisture barrier was not needed on concrete slab which was completely misleading and will end up costing me thousands to reinstall correctly. I would never recommend this company due to horrible customer relations (owner in particular) and bad installation quality.

David just finished adding hand-scraped hardwood floors in our study. He matched our existing floors perfectly. We could not be happier. The job is absolutely beautiful and done exactly in the schedule that he gave us. Fastidiously neat, tidy and organized Will recommend him anytime and will definitely use him again if the need arises!

We were so impressed! David was so professional and even postponed the job for two months because we were having moisture issues and he didn't want it to damage the floors. He was patient and gave us great advice (at the cost of postponing the money he would get for the job). When he did complete the job, he was able to perfectly match the stain to the existing one. It was a rio off the main hallway, and you literally can't tell that the new floor wasn't original. We couldn't say enough good things about Youngblood flooring.

David Youngblood and his 3 helpers did a great job. I cannot say enough good things about them. They were in communication with us daily.  They were polite, very dependable and professional.  I have never worked with a service provider, who took such pride in his artisan work; and even more surprising, his young workmen shared the same pride.  They all cared about the job!

As for the job, it is not possible to find the patched portions of the floors.  Beautiful craftmanship.  If I could give them a higher score that "A", I would.  I highly recommend this company.

My husband and I have been slowly renovating our fixer-upper we purchased in 2012.  In the fall of 2013, after gutting our kitchen and den, David Youngblood and his crew patched in oak hardwoods (where there was no flooring under the old cabinetry) into the existing hardwood floors, then refinished all of the hardwoods in the kitchen and den.  The existing floors had cupped/warped from a leak in the kitchen before we purchased the house.  David and his crew did an incredible job repairing, patching and
refinishing.  They matched perfectly the color/stain of the floors that transitioned into the formal living room.  The floors are gorgeous, perfect.  It has been over a year since they finished our floors in the den and kitchen and they are still perfect.  We have had no cupping , shrinking or warping issues or any sort of problems with the work they did last year.  It is obvious that David knows hardwood flooring.  He explained the processes every step of the way.  We could not be more pleased with their work and expertise.  We hired Youngblood's again this month to patch and refinish transitions from two of our bedrooms into the new closets and bathroom.  Again, their work is superior.  The estimated timetable and final cost matched the original bid.  I could not be more pleased with Youngblood's and recommend them highly.

I called Dave on Monday afternoon.  He and Nic were here at 8:30 AM on Tuesday morning!  They moved the furniture, pulled up the rug pads (rugs were already at the cleaners), cleaned the old wax off the floors, applied new wax and buffed them to a beautiful sheen.  Then they carefully moved everything back where it was originally.
They were delightfully professional and friendly.  Dave made several recommendations about the care and upkeep of the floors, and what would be involved in refinishing other rooms in my 85-year-old Tudor cottage.
They were quick and thorough.   Gone in 3 hours.  I will definitely use them again.

The price was reasonable. They were very proficient and the work on the floors was done how we talked about in the estimate and they explained everything step by step as they went along. They were polite and did a good job and really good work. You could tell they knew what they were doing. I would use them again.

I called David and made an appointment, and he was there right on time. He carefully explained to me why you don't wax floors that are finished with polyurethane. I guess that's what I'd had in mind. He explained that he could clean the floors, and that's what we did. He was pleasant, did a good job and moved a few pieces of furniture that were still in the rooms. I greatly appreciated his candor with me up front about what could and couldn't be done.

This is the second time I have used Youngblood's Hardwood floors.   The first time I used him was in June 2012 where he was recommended to me by a  friend to correct new construction hardwood floors that did not acclimated properly.   It was a nightmare as the floors were cupped everywhere and the builder didn't stand behind their work.   I had a friend who had the same situation happen to him said that they used Dave to fix his floors.   Based on his good experience, I gave Dave a call.   In addition to him refinishing existing floors, we also had him take out carpet in four bedrooms and lay hardwoods in the home.  The cost was approximately $15K.  Dave installed, sanded and refinished the floors while we were out of town for 10 days in June 2012.   Everything went smoothly and I felt safe that he and his guys were in my home working.   He called me every morning and evening to keep me updated on the progress.  We sold that home this April and purchased another one that needed existing floors sanded and refinished.  Our youngest child has asthma so we had all bedroom carpeting replaced with new hardwoods in this home.   Dave and his crew were flexible changing our installation, sanding, and refinishing as he was working around other tradesmen in my home while it was being renovated.  The floors are absolutely beautiful.   I cannot recommend him highly enough.    If you want the job to be done right with courteous, well mannered, and punctual employees with whom you will have no problem communicating with, Dave Youngblood is the craftsman you want.  Based on my most recent experience, he still has the same employees which shows me he treats his guys right and they all have a positive attitude.  They work hard and the result is breathtaking beautiful floors.  Dave and every person on his crew are a pleasure to work with.    I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again.

He is spectacular!  He was reasonably priced, and he's a master at what he does.  He is fast and reliable.  I had sixty-year-old floors in most of the house except the kitchen and guestroom.  If you walked in, you could not even tell where the old floor begins and the new floor ends. He used real oak and matched it wonderfully.  He came back out after a few months and stained all the floors the same.

David Youngblood was hired in August of 2012 to remove a carpeted area in our home and to lace in wood flooring to match the existing wood flooring.  Within a few weeks, the new wood flooring began to cup and buckle.  David was advised about the floor issues and refused to repair the problems.  He advised us to use dehumidifiers in the home to solve the problem.  The coupling and buckling continued to worsen over an 8 month period of time.  The new wood had buckled to a height of over 10 inches in some areas.  Again, we called David to inspect our floors and give us advice as to how he could repair the floors.  David continue to blame other causes.  We then spent a great deal of money ruling out other causes with plumbers, roofers, drainage experts, foundation experts and a structural engineer.  When we had ruled out all of the causes David pointed to and asked him to come back and repair our floors, he would no longer return our calls.  We decided that if David was not willing to be responsible for his floors then we would have no choice but to hire another flooring company to repair our floors.  We ended up having to completely tear out all of the work that David had done, discovering during the tear out that our problems were caused by the way the floors had been installed by David, ie. improper preparation of the concrete prior to install, no moisture barrier used, not enough glue used to create an even surface, poor wood acclimation prior to install.  We have thorough documentation, with photos, of the problems we discovered under the wood that David installed.  David's company comes highly recommended on this website, we are not sure what happened on our job.  But it became very clear to us that our job was rushed, the proper materials were not used for the install and when problems occurred, David did not stand behind his work.

Our home was built in the 1960's, and has unique hardwood flooring in the den and dining areas, with actual walnut pegs placed at the ends of each board. This flooring had been carpeted over for years. We removed the carpet and had David refinish the wood. One challenge was that we also removed a wall between the two rooms, leaving only columns at each end to separate the two. The original plan was for David to interlace new wood with the old where the wall had been for a seamless look to the floors. That plan fell apart after the wall was actually removed due to the boards not being lined up exactly. We were very impressed with the alternate plan David quickly suggested, which was to design a pattern using different types of wood where the wall had been, and also around the columns, which gave it a decorative look and tied everything together beautifully. We are very pleased with the custom design and receive compliments from everyone who sees it! David and his crew also did a great job of lacing in the new wood with the old in the doorway between the dining room and the study. They drilled holes at the ends of the new boards and added the walnut pegs by hand (fascinating to watch how they did this!). David even noticed the new wood came in slightly shorter lengths than the original wood. So even though the pegs in the den/dining rooms are at the end of every board, he realized by continuing that pattern, there would be more pegs in the study, making the difference slightly noticeable. So he made adjustments, and only added random pegs, carefully looking at the adjacent dining room to make sure they were being spaced about the same. The result is perfect - you would never know the flooring in the study was not original. They even polished our brick entryway and re-stained the grout as an "extra service" they just "threw in." Overall we were very pleased with the cost, workmanship and service, and are planning to use Youngbloods for the next phase of our home renovation.

They did an excellent job from start to finish. Our floors are beautiful. My only complaint is that they did not tape our baseboards before staining. The stain did not come off, and we had to get our baseboards painted. If you don't want to have your baseboards repainted, I suggest you make sure they tape yours!
