THE FABRIC AFFAIR

My experience was lousy. I sent them an email describing the things I needed to have done and they never responded to the email. That's been at least a month now. They evidently don't need the work or don't care about having a new client.

A piece on my sewing machine was broken. I took it to the Fabric Affair to have it fixed. When I arrived with the machine, I told the woman who set up the repair ticket exactly what was wrong with the machine and that a part would be needed. She told me that she would have the repair technician look at it either the next day or the day after. After waiting for one week, I called them back to see if they had a projected date of delivery for my machine. The woman told me on the phone that she would call me and she was very rude. Two more weeks passed and I still had not heard anything. I called them back and was told that my machine was not ready. The next day, the woman called and told me that a part was broken on the machine and it would need to reordered. I had already told them that the part was broken. In essence, they wasted 2.5 weeks diagnosing a problem that I had already diagnosed. They said that they had ordered the part and it would be one more week. After a few more days, she called me again and told me that the had ordered the wrong part so it would be another week. I took over 4 weeks for me to get my machine back.

My sewing maching had been in the closet for a couple of years, and the tension was off. I called Fabric Affair for information on a tune-up. They gave me a price and told me what the service would include. They tuned up the machine and the cost was exactly as they said in advance. The machine was ready in the time expected. I haven't used it yet to check the tension.
The machine is a Pfaff - approximately 13 years old.

I have used the Fabric Affair for both serger and sewing machine repair. They have always done excellent work, and I usually have the machine back in just a couple of days. Their talented staff is always helpful as far as answering questions or assisting their clients with sewing and/or machine issues.
