My husband and I visited the showroom.  We looked at all of the types, colors, workings of Hunter Douglas blinds, which were all available on site for inspection and "test drive."  We made an appointment for measuring and in-home sample review of products to look at color choices in our home and lighting conditions.  Theresa Hines was knowledgable, helpful, and helped with color choices, vane sizes and design.  Wonderful experience.  Blinds were ordered and paid for upfront as we used a credit card.  (If you paid cash, 1/2 up front, 1/2 when installed.)  The installer called when the blinds came in and made an appointment for installation.  Theresa also came out for installation.  One of the units was damaged and Theresa re-ordered the unit.  All of the units had the motor drives on them so we could use either a remote, a switch on the wall, or our smart phones (coolest toy ever - we close and open them while laying in bed or sitting on the couch!  You can even do it when you're not at home).  The installer came back out to switch out the damaged unit.  He also worked out a few kinks with the remote.  We are very pleased with the Smart Looks, Theresa Hines, and the installer.  Highly recommend!

Entire experience with this company was great. We stopped in their shop one Saturday. Valerie explained the different kind of products and helped us narrow down to a couple of options. The following week we scheduled her to meet us at the house with the color swatches to help us finalize our order. She was on time and was great at working with my wife to make sure we were getting exactly what we wanted.



When the shutters and blinds came in, the installer called me and we set up an appointment for later that week. He was already outside, unloading his truck and getting ready when we met him at the appointed time. He was a true professional and gentleman in every way. By noon he was done and everything looks great.

Excellent experience in every way

I bought a custom shutter for my breakfast room window.  Theresa was very helpful with making the decision on what kind of window covering would work best.   I purchased the shutter and had it installed in about 7 weeks.  The gentleman that came to measure and then also installed was very pleasant and professional.  It looks fantastic , I couldn't be happier!

From the start, Theresa at Smart Looks was a huge help!  We had no idea what to expect in terms of price for blinds, as we had never had to purchase them before.  She walked us through the different types of blinds, showing us each feature at the showroom.  She gave us a quote which we were able to take home and consider before purchasing.  In fact, we were able to call her and have her adjust the quote for us over the phone so that we didn't need to drive back to the showroom.  All of our information was in the computer for her to see and change easily.  It also made it very easy to see what we were spending and where.
After ordering the blinds, Theresa said that we would receive a call from their installer once the blinds were complete.  This happened ahead of schedule, as she said it could take up to 3 weeks, but they were done earlier than that.  The installer set up an appointment and showed up on time.  He was extremely knowledgeable and efficient.  He did a great job on the installation and showed us how to use the new features we had purchased.
After installing the shades, we noticed while the installer was still here, that one of the bedroom shades was not a blackout shade to match the other one in the room.  We called Theresa and after looking it up on the computer saw that she had entered the information incorrectly.  RIght away she ordered another one, leaving the incorrect shade in place while we waited for the new one.  It came in record time and the installer was back to put the shade in. 

We were highly satisfied with Smart Looks and we will definitely use them again when we need shade for other rooms in our home.

The gentleman that installed the blinds was just as professional and competent as Theresa, and believe me, that half wall screen was a challenge to hang, and would have been impossible for a less experienced  professional.  I highly recommend this company in all areas from measurement  - product - installation.  Everyone at this company will talk to you, answer your questions, and solve any problems.  This is NOT a pass the buck company - highly competent and professional.

This is my second drapery order from SmartLooks this year.  I started by sifting through their fabric samples.  Once again, SmartLooks provided just the right amount of help and advice without any sales pressure.  I checked out swatches a couple of times and took them home to determine what looked best in the room.   The initial fabric I chose turned out to be a very pricey designer fabric. Valerie showed me similar, more reasonable alternatives and I chose one that I liked even better.  Valerie immediately made sure the fabric was available and put the yardage on a hold while I checked the sample out a final time in my home.  Valerie worked with me to help decide on enhanced lining, extra fullness, 4-finger pleats, and exact dimensions.  The drapes arrived early, are wonderfully constructed wiht perfectly matched seams, and look beautiful.  To economize, my husband and I did the installation ourselves using wood poles, brackets and rings I purchased online at discount. 

The price, quality and service were good. You pay for what you get. They paid attention to details. Overall the job went fine. They did a good job. In fact I?m going to call them for a couple of replacements. The quality was good. They came on time like they needed to. They used specialized installers. We have windows that are odd shaped; they are not built right. They are of different sizes at the top and at the bottom. Since they had a specialized installer; and the way they made it, we didn?t have any trouble. With the other service provider it was a nightmare. There is a night and day difference from the time we used Smart Looks. We built our house twenty five years ago, we just had a bad contractor. We obviously put up with it because we built the house. We designed the house and we have lots of windows. I would use their services again in the future.

I wanted custom drapes for my living room. I've bought shades and wood blinds from Smart Looks previously, so decided to check out them out one Saturday with my measurements in hand. They are reorganizing the drapery section of the store. They had many samples to sort through. Valerie quickly located exactly what I was looking for. Since I needed a large amount of fabric, she made sure the fabric was available put it on hold for a few days so I wouldn't be disappointed. I took samples home with me and made an appointment for Valerie to come to the house and take final measurements. Valerie called ahead and showed up at the appointed time. I knew what I wanted, but she discussed all the measurements and offered recommendations for lining color, overall length, return dimensions, etc. Valerie was a delight to work with. There was no hard pressure sales, just expert information and assistance. The drapes were completed as promised and are perfect. I wish all my decorating projects were so hassle-free. Smart Looks also offers drapery hardware and installation services. However, we decided to economize. We bought brand name wood poles, rings and brackets from an online source and did the installation ourselves.

I had researched Hunter-Douglass Duette shades on the Internet and wanted to use a service other than a big box store. I went to Smart Looks. They had a showroom with all the choices well displayed. I got a rough estimate of the cost, and made an appointment for someone to measure my windows. At the showroom I was told the mechanism I wanted (raise from bottom and lower from top) did not qualify for the tax deduction. The staff that measured my windows later said it did. I ordered the shades. I went on vacation for 2 weeks and they were ready when I returned. The installer arrived on time. He went above and beyond in his service, because we had to move my bedstead and reassemble it to get one of the shades installed. The shades were high priced. The estimate at the showroom was about $200 less than the final cost after the measurements.There are probably discounts to be had elsewhere, especially for those who can do their own installation. I will get a 30% rebate on the cost of the shades before tax when I file my taxes for 2010. Smart Looks provided the necessary forms to submit with my tax return. The installer thought he was going to leave the old blinds behind at my house. I convinced him to remove them from my property. Make sure you negotiate this, especially if you are having many old window treatments replaced. Overall I was very pleased with Smart Looks and I would recommend them.

Their prices seemed lower than other companies that I looked at. They were easily accessible. Their representative came to my house late because the company had a sale that held her up.

There price was cheaper then other service provider. They did not charge for measuring and other service provider did. The showroom and presentation were beautiful. They came on the day I ordered them to measure and they also had the rebates filled out for me for the Hunter Douglas fabric shading. They were very professional and helpful.

These were Hunter Douglas wood blinds. Six in all, with two oversized windows.
