Royal Roofing

We live in Trophy Club Texas and needed to replace our roof. To weed out unscrupulous businesses we decided to only consider roofers who are accredited by the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and it worked out for us in the most wonderful way. Charlie Kegans with Royal Roofing quoted us the best price of the five roofers who submitted bids. On the day of the project everything worked out perfectly despite the incredible heat of Texas in July. The crew was as professional and competent as Charlie said they would be. We are thrilled with their work. The day after the installation we had a good hour long thunder storm and down pour to stress test their work and the results were everything we could hope for. If we ever need another roof replacement, we will only make one phone call, and it will be to Charlie Kegans at Royal Roofing.

Royal Roofing did my roof, and my experience was quite enjoyable. Usually home improvement is a headache, but Royal Roofing made the experience easy and stress free. They’ve been in DFW for a long time too, which gives me great peace of mind if we get a bad storm and I need someone to come check it out that I’ll be able call the same company.

The folks at Royal Roofing were great to work with!  They were extreemely responsive and professional with all my dealings with them.  They worked hard and paid attention to detail and the roofing repair was completed on time and slightly under their initial quote.  I would not hesitate to work with them again in the future.

When the insurance suggester came, he explained him everything. He was good and straightforward. I would use him in the future.

The process was very smooth and Darrel was very responsive to my calls and questions.  From bid to completion was only about 2 weeks and some of that time was delayed based on me needing to select a shingle color.  The job went quickly and he was willing to schedule the work around when it was best for my family.  Clean-up afterward was done well, which was important to me since I wanted to make sure my child was not stepping on nails in the yard.  He also helped me to find the gutters and chimney cap I needed with other vendors he has worked with in the past.  Overall it was a great experience.  I would (and have) recommended them to friends.

I have used them a few times already and I have had no problem with them. They came to look at our roof leak and fixed it. Sometime later, I had another problem, and they came back and fixed it. Everything has been good including the price. I would rate them highly and would use them in the future, if necessary.

Once the job began, the crew worked continuously until the job was done. It was a large job and took six days to complete. The results look excellent. They kept the area quite clean, and when done the cleanup was very complete. They were quite easy to work with and did everything they said they would do.

Royal Roofings bid was $7,000 less than the other bid I received for the same roof. They did an excellent job for a fair price. The employees were nice and professional. They cleaned up after themselves and did an overall great job.

It went okay. We got off to a rocky start about the insurance portion of the payment, but worked through that. Lee was the most thorough in explaining what would be done and made recommendations with explanations on some options. I checked with a Colorado cousin in the roofing business who agreed with what Lee had recommended. I wanted Energy Star shingles and got them.

The roof was put on about 10 years ago which was how long the warranty was good for. I contacted Royal Roofing as the end of the warranty was approaching to tell them that I had a leak in my ceiling. Material was washing off the roof and ending up in my yard. I called Royal Roofing out and they were looking at my roof with puzzled looks and said that they couldn't tell why it was leaking. I then called a roofing engineer and he discovered that there was defective material in some of the roofing and I contacted them about this. Royal had me do the leg work because they acted like they were busy. I found out who the supplier was and got the paperwork for Royal to fill out. They held onto my paperwork for over a year. I kept calling them and they finally said that they lost the paperwork and that they were not going to take care of the problem. After many promises of telling me that they would take care of things, they had finally called me to say that they were sorry and that they would not do anything about the roof for no reason. My house is still in need of serious repair and I would not recommend this company.

They were responsive, professional, and although it was a small job, they came and did it anyway and did it well.

Lee Watson was the representative from the company that came to my house. He explained the quote, and how they would work with my insurance company. He even had some ideas on some changes we could make to improve the appearance of my roof. We scheduled the work and they came out on time and did a great job. They had to wait several months for payment while we worked through the hoops of my insurance company, but they never complained and they were very patient. I am very happy with their work

Good response and capable worker. Damage was at the edge and was outside the part of the roof that covers the home interior so we didn't notice the problem until we were doing some other outside work. The soffit underneath the area has been left uncovered so that we can check the repaired area after the next big rainfall. Until then, we won't know if the repair is completely adequate. Royal Roofing will return if more work is needed.

I thought Lee was polite and professional and I really appreciated his explanation for why roofing companies have minimum repair charges. We clearly lucked out that he's a nice guy and did this for us for $50.00. My husband and I are very grateful.

Mike was very personable and the first of many contractors to show up for bids. Seemed very open and honest and not overly concerned with making the sell. Once deciding upon using Royal Roofing I coordinated with Mike to start the work. We scheduled a couple of weeks out. They started work at about 7:30am on a Friday morning and were completely done and gone by the time I came home from work. The roof looks beautiful and at a reasonable cost. They even matched the vents and power inlet on the roof to blend in with the new shingles. Very pleased with my experience with Mike and Royal Roofing.

They gave me an estimate. The estimate was the same as the price. They cleaned up after themselves. They did a good job. They were polite. They seemed very professional. They were very accommodating. They helped me deal with the insurance company.

I contacted Lee on a Monday but got his voice mail. He called back that Wednesday and I told him we wanted the estimate done on that Friday since we'd both be available then. He wasn't sure if he'd have a chance to do it that day, but would try to make it. He did complete the estimate and e-mailed it to me by 5pm on Friday, but we never got to meet him in person. His quote was very similar to the another we had received from a competitor who we did meet. We ultimately went with the other company but I would have had no issue going with his estimate. He seems like a genuine person who would do a good job at a fair price.

Would not provide estimate without seeing insurance paperwork. Provided estimate a few hundred dollars below insurance allowance (saving me deductible), but estimate was $1500 more than another Angie's List rated A company. I'm paying my deductible, of course, but that's the agreement with the insurance company, seems right thing to do.

Did not use this company.

Lee was very professional and helpful. He explained that our leak was most likely caused by some cracked mortar in our brickwork, and he sealed it with some silicone. He then did an inspection of our roof and pointed out several potential trouble areas and suggested what we could do to catch problems before they become serious. If you use Royal Roofing, make sure to ask for Lee Watson. He was great!

Everything went smoothly and I'm quite satisfied with this company.

It went very well. The job was completed on time and per the estimate. They even installed gutter guards that we had purchased from a home improvement store at no additional charge and they did a good job of cleaning up. This is a company that is easy to recommend. This was the first time we had the roof replaced and he did a better job explaining the options and provided a sample of shingles to choose from. He was also less expensive (by 30%) than the other 4 bids.
