They were able to move the door enough to make it open and lock. Fast response and effective remedy. They were cautious not to make any major changes to the door or the door frame as they thought that the door would return to its original position and any changes to the door would be difficult to put back; it's difficult to add to the door after it has been planed down to adjust to the door opening. After all the recent rain they were right: the door did return to the original position and it opens and locks like it should.

The job went smoothly and without a hitch. Mr. York had told me beforehand that the job would take about 3 hours. He finished the job about 20-25 minutes ahead of schedule. This impressed me because our house is quite old and I halfway expected Mr. York would encounter something unexpected that would require another parts trip as a minimum. This was not the case. He had in his truck everything he needed to complete the job, including a new threshold had I needed one(I didn't)and new sill supports(I didn't). As, the owner of the company that had been doing this kind of work for decades, Mr. York had in his head the knowledge he needed to anticipate the tool, material and labor requirements of this job.
