- high quality work, very neat, professional all the way
I am a very difficult customer. My first contractor even walked off the job. I called this guy and he exceeded my expectations. Did work not asked for-- free. This company is all you need. I know construction, I know sales and this company gets top marks. They have an expert for every facet of the remodel for less money than a two-man crew. These folks will be doing the rest of my house .
Due to a leak in a toilet supply line, we had a part of the bathroom tiles removed for drying and the trims were removed to allow further drying along with holes in the wall. The ceiling on the storey below the bathroom had portion cut out to allow the subfloor to dry.
We therefore needed the tiles replaced in the bathroom and the adjascent wetbar since the original tiles were no longer available in the market, get the trims replaced, get all the trims painted in the bathroom, get the ceiling patched up, textured and have the entire ceiling painted.
We dealt with Jeff Berglund on this job. We were happy with the overall results. They painted our ceiling using the exact same paint Sherwin Williams that we had used. After the texturing was done, the paint on the ceiling was still uneven and we saw a dark patch. Richard Williams sent the painter out a second time to make sure it was fixed to our satisfaction. They probably ended up using several coats of paint.
We got to chose the tiles that we wanted for the wetbar and the bathroom. Jeff told us to go to the showroom and let us know which tiles we wanted him to use. All the contractors that came to the work were nice. They did the work really well. All we had to do was pay the deductible and for any extra work that Liberty Mutual had not estimated for, we did not have to deal with it. Later on after the work was done, we received a check for an extra amount and we handed that over to Jeff.
We have a leak again this year and we would have used Richard Williams and Associates again had they still been part of Liberty Mutuals program.
There are a few things that probably could be improved on mainly communication. I would have appreciated quicker responses to my phone calls and emails, and probably work getting done faster. We weren't on a deadline so it worked for us.
We highly recommend Richard Williams and Associates based on our experience.
They took care of little things as they went along and didn't nickle and dime me. They also didn't just get things done without it being correct. For example, one wall in a room had different texturing. Instead of just painting over it, they fixed the texture on that one wall so it would be all uniform. It is that attention to detail that I appreciated. I will definitely be using them again.

July 15, 2013 *Stacy emailed and said we never received approval to move forward with shingle repair so it was not completed. Told customer that if he wants to approve it we could schedule same day or following morning. *Customer said it was on estimate and asked what approval was needed. *Stated that we did not do shingle repair because consent was not given. *Customer approved shingle repair. July 16, 2013 -Shingle repair was completed. July 17, 2013 -Sent customer invoice for shingle repair September 4, 2103 *Mailed past due invoice and sent email follow to make sure invoice was received. *Customer stated that he already paid for shingle repair on June 3, 2013 invoice. *Emailed customer copy of original paid invoice, told him we didn’t put on invoice due to not having authorization to proceed, told him we completed the repair after his authorization & that he owed for this repair and to contact Mr. Williams with any questions. *Customer stated again that line item for roof repair was paid. *Replied by email stating that original estimate was $3,858.08, of which $3,348.09 was paid & did not include the roof repair. *Customer stated that he only agreed to pay what was on the estimate. **Estimate total still has not been paid to date; roof repair has still not been paid for. Customer is confusing the estimates and invoices, therefore believes he has paid for roof repair. We explained this to him several times with supporting documentation and he still refuses to pay his outstanding balance of $240.00."
