After leaving a couple of voicemails (I left Jonathan Cooper two voicemails, and he left me 2 voicemails) on each others voicemails, I spoke with Jonathan Cooper. His voicemails (the first and the second one both) were presumptive and strange. He said he didn't work with homes in Arlington or Fort Worth ... and I had never given him my address. He was unprofessional from the start.
I asked him for a foundation inspection of my home, and he was unprofessional and he used profanity on the phone to conduct his business for a potential new customer.
He informed me that he was full for the next week, and I asked about the week after that.
He said that he was planning a vacation and he was not sure if he could come the following week either.
I told him I was in no hurry, and could we schedule for next month?
He again said he didn't know how long his vacation would be for, but did not offer any other time.
Jonathan Cooper then stated he and quot;did not like to do foundation inspections on newer homes/ new homesand quot;
I told him our home was built a year ago and we had noticed cracks in the walls and some separation in crown molding. I told him I hoped what we were seeing inside the house was normal settlement, but I wanted a foundation report to make sure that our foundation was within normal. I was hoping he would find nothing, but since we never had a foundation inspection done when we bought the house, it would be a good idea to do one before our one year warranty review.
I told him that he was coming off unprofessionally, he then became hostile and told me he had not slept well and would not do our inspection, and used the word and quot;a**and quot; , and I asked him to speak professionally on the phone.
He then hung up the phone on me.
"This lady was just odd. She left me six VMs before we actually spoke. I could tell by her demeanor that she was someone I didn't want to deal with. After we had talked for a few minutes I told her that I was booked solid and was then going to be out of town. Honestly, I just didn't want to do business with her. Partly because she had a new house that sounded like it had only minor problems (and I doubted she would be satisfied if I found that to be the case). And partly because she caught me on a Friday afternoon after a very long week and zero sleep the night before. I just wasn't in the mood for it. She made a point of telling me she was going to report me to Angie's List for not wanting to inspect her house. Whatever. I've been doing this long enough to recognize when people are going to be trouble, and I could tell this lady was gonna be trouble. Yes, I did hang up on her--I had had enough."
"My report clearly states that the elevation reference point was taken on hardwood floors that were approximately 1" higher than virtually all other floor coverings (2nd paragraph of page 2 of 4 pages). Driveway condition was not mentioned in the report-not sure where customer got that from. Report was very clear and concise in my opinion. I provided a repair plan for the foundation that was both reasonable and feasible. No idea why this fella was unhappy with me.... Lastly, I inspected this house in October, 2005. I was not made aware of this unfavorable Angie's List report until February, 2013. Just sayin'....."
