"Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Please understand, the grade you are leaving for us is based on circumstances we had no control over. The "inspection" was a program being sold by Angie's List that we were subcontracted through Angie's List to perform. This was a service that we had no control or say in the cost, the exact work that was to be accomplished or even the app that was used to create the final report. Angie's List was in control of all of these factors, not Artisans Home Repair. We stopped providing these reports for Angie's list for multiple reasons, but primarily because customers were so dissatisfied with the service and were leaving us bad reviews that should have been directed to Angie's List. We apologize if we were unable to provide this customer with the service visit he deserved, Artisans would have handled this completely differently if we had been in charge."

I would not recommend them to a friend. They basically did not do the job. They just gave me a paper with things that needed to be repaired without the price. They charged me an extra amount and did a really poor job. I felt like I was held hostage because they did a walk through with my tenant. I wanted an expert.
"It is disappointing that Angie's List is yet again not taking responsibility for their problems and instead letting their PAID ADVERTISERS take the fall on a failing program that they are selling. We no longer perform this "inspection" for Angie's List due to the fact that every customer that has purchased one has been extremely dissatisfied with issues that we, as the company providing the service, have no control over. This customer paid 129.00 to Angie's List for a basic inspection of a property and was advised on multiple occasions that this was NOT the type of inspection that people get when buying or selling a home. Also, this customer advised our company that they were trying to find a way to keep their tenants security deposit and requested that we provide them with an inspection report that would allow them to do so. We accurately assessed the property and found nothing wrong that could be linked to their tenant. All issues noted on the inspection were issues that the landlord is responsible for. After we provided the landlord with an inspection, he asked for a formal bid on some repairs on the property which we provided under our standard company policy which is to charge $75.00 initially and then discount the work that amount when they have us do the work, which in effect becomes a free estimate. Aside from this being normal industry practice, if he didn't want a formal estimate, he didn't have to get one, we sent him an invoice that he could have refused to pay, no one held anyone hostage."
